Devereux Georgia changes lives and nurtures the potential of children and youth suffering from emotional and behavioral challenges brought on by mental illness, sexual exploitation, abuse, neglect, and/or intellectual/developmental disabilities. Since establishing their Georgia program in 1973, Devereux has inspired hope, ensured well-being, and promoted meaningful life choices through treatment and support services that include a Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility, community-based treatment programs, Specialty Foster Care program, and an AdvancED-accredited school. With Devereux Georgia’s help, youth develop the confidence and competency to achieve once-unthinkable goals such as literacy, graduation from high school, and the acquisition of basic job readiness skills to become successful and productive members of our community.

We’re closing out DSP Week with a big finale: a Devereux POP-up shop featuring swag and special giveaways! For the POP-up shop snacks we had POPcorn and POPsicles from King of Pops 🤤

All week long, we’ve celebrated our Direct Support Professionals—but the truth is, one week will never be enough. Every department across Devereux wants to say the same thing: thank you.

Thank you for showing up with dedication and heart.
Thank you for supporting our youth through every challenge.
Thank you for being the backbone of our mission. 💙

Today’s celebration is just one more way to remind our DSPs how much they are valued—not just this week, but every day.

Wednesday’s DSP Week celebration: taco truck lunch!

Our Direct Support Professionals enjoyed a well-earned midweek break with amazing tacos from Let's Taco Bout It Food Truck ATL , while rocking their cowboy boots in honor of this year’s “Boots on the Ground” theme.

It was the perfect mix of good food, good fun, and big appreciation for the incredible work our DSPs do every day.

What a transformation!

Thank you to the volunteers from the Multi-Agency Alliance for Children, Inc who joined us last week for a day of service and helped organize our Activity Therapy closet after a long and eventful summer. In just two hours, they accomplished more than we ever imagined and turned a cluttered closet into an organized, welcoming space that’s now a joy to walk into.

We are so grateful for their time, energy, and the lasting impact they’ve made for our staff and youth. Thank you MAAC!

Today is , the anniversary of the adoption of the 19th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution which granted women the right to vote. Devereux honors all strong and resilient women who have fought for – and continue to fight – for women’s rights.
