Nothing says summer fun like Water Day!

Devereux youth enjoyed a bouncy house, water games, and foam as part of our summer activity therapy programming. The chance to enjoy positive experiences and build healthy relationships is an important part of the healing process especially for youth who have experienced intense trauma.

Together, we raised over $100,000 to expand Activity Therapy at Devereux Georgia—creative and therapeutic programs like art, music, yoga, dance, sports, and enrichment that help our youth heal, connect, and thrive.

More than just a fundraiser, last night was a reminder of what’s possible when a community shows up with heart. Thank you for seeing the potential in our youth and walking alongside them on their journey.

As keynote speaker Charles “Hank” Hankerson reminded us: “While I breathe, I hope.”
Because of you, our youth are breathing a little easier—and holding onto that hope.

We are so honored to have been selected as this quarter’s recipient of the Mooyah Burger Bar, a thoughtful partnership between Keylan Mitchell, owner of MOOYAH Burgers, Fries & Shakes in Mableton, and Irene Barton of Cobb Collaborative . Together, they spotlight frontline nonprofit teams that are making a real difference in our community—and this quarter, they chose Devereux Georgia’s Foster Care team!

This gesture couldn’t have come at a better time. Over the past few months, our foster care program has undergone tremendous growth as we expand into Savannah and take on more than 40 new foster care cases across Georgia. Our team has been working around the clock hiring, onboarding, and training staff from both Atlanta and Savannah to provide the consistent care and encouragement these youth need to thrive.

Today’s Burger Bar brought our entire foster care team together in person for the first time—seasoned staff and new hires side by side. We’re so proud of how far we’ve come and deeply grateful to Mooyah and Cobb Collaborative for recognizing the people behind this work.
