Talking is not always processing.

You can understand your patterns
name your emotions
and tell your story clearly

and still feel stuck.

Because insight alone does not create change.

Your body has to be included in the process.

If your system never had the chance
to feel something safely
to complete a response
to come out of bracing

it will keep holding it
even if your mind understands it.

This is where somatic work is different.

It is not just about talking.
It is about helping your body actually process
so change can happen
not just insight.

If this resonates, this is the kind of work we do inside my 1:1 somatic sessions and inside Sanctuary.

You don’t have to keep carrying it alone.

Most people think regulation means calming down.

But your nervous system is also shaped by what you don’t say.

When you hold things in
your body holds it too.

Tension builds.
Breath shortens.
Your system stays braced.

Speaking what is true
even in small, simple ways
can begin to shift that.

Not perfectly.
Not all at once.

But enough for your body to learn:
it is safe to be expressed.

This is part of healing. 💛

If this resonates, this is the kind of work we do inside Sanctuary.

Emotions are meant to move.

But most of us were never taught how.

We learned to:
hold it together
push feelings down
tighten in the body
or move past them quickly

Not because anything is wrong with us
but because our nervous system didn’t feel safe enough to stay with what we were feeling.

Real healing doesn’t come from getting rid of emotions.

It comes from creating enough safety in the body
so feelings can rise, move, and pass
without overwhelming you.

This is the foundation of somatic healing
and nervous system work.

If you’ve ever felt stuck in your emotions
or like they build up and then spill over…

your body isn’t broken…
it just needs a different kind of support.

This is the work we do in 1:1 sessions and inside Sanctuary.

You don’t have to navigate this alone.

Most people hear “somatic” and think it means calming down.

Slower breathing
Less stress
Trying to relax

But that’s not actually what somatic work is.

Somatic means in the body.

It’s learning how to notice what is happening inside you
without overriding it.

The tightness in your chest
The urge to pull away
The subtle impulse to speak… or stay quiet

Your body is not something to fix.
It’s something to include.

And when your body is included in the process
that’s when real change begins.

If you’ve ever felt like you’re “doing all the right things” but your body still isn’t settling…
this can be the missing piece.

I support this work through trauma-informed somatic sessions and inside Sanctuary here in Suwanee, GA.

You are not meant to regulate alone.

Your nervous system learns safety
through other people.

Not through fixing.
Not through forcing yourself to calm down.

But through being with someone
who can stay grounded
while you are not.

That’s how your body learns
it doesn’t have to carry everything by itself.

This is co-regulation.

And for so many people, it’s the missing piece in healing.

If you’ve ever felt like you “should” be able to calm yourself down
but your body won’t settle…

nothing is wrong with you.

Your nervous system may just be needing
safe connection, not more effort.

This is the kind of work we do in somatic healing and trauma-informed care.

And it changes everything.

Most people think nervous system healing means feeling calm all the time.

But that’s not actually how regulation works.

Real regulation is being able to come back to yourself - even when you’re overwhelmed.

🌺 Your decisions feel clearer
🌺 Your relationships feel softer
🌺 There’s less tension running in the background

That’s what we’re building.

Not perfection.
Capacity.

If you’ve been trying to “feel calm” and it’s not working…
nothing is wrong with you.

Your body just needs a way back.

This is the work we do inside Sanctuary and in 1:1 somatic sessions at Soul Path Wellness.

Most people think touch is what relaxes the nervous system.

But not every body experiences touch as safe right away.

Real regulation doesn’t come from touch alone. It comes from choice.

When your body can:
• pause
• predict what’s coming
• and participate in what’s happening

it may stop bracing.

That’s when the nervous system may begin to settle.

This is why trauma-informed bodywork and somatic healing feel so different -
because your body is included in the process, not worked on or overridden.

If your body has ever stayed tense even when something was “supposed to be relaxing” … nothing is wrong with you.

Your nervous system just needs choice, not pressure.

This is the work we do inside Sanctuary and in 1:1 sessions at Soul Path Wellness.

Group healing works because nervous system regulation can spread between people. Healing does not only happen alone.

Sometimes your nervous system begins to settle in the presence of safe, regulated people.

This is part of co-regulation.

Breathing slows.
Guarding softens.
Your body starts to realize it does not have to do everything by itself.

That is one reason group healing can be so powerful.

In trauma healing and somatic healing, safety is not just something we think about.
It is something the nervous system experiences.

When your system feels enough safety, nervous system regulation becomes more possible.

You do not have to heal all by yourself.

One sign nervous system healing is working:

It starts quietly.

You pause before reacting.
You say no sooner.
You explain less.

These are not personality changes.

They’re nervous system changes.

When your body begins to feel safer, it doesn’t need to:

• over-explain
• over-perform
• over-accommodate

Your system simply starts protecting your energy more naturally.

Most healing doesn’t look dramatic.

It looks like small behavioral shifts that happen before your emotions or thoughts fully catch up.

And those quiet shifts are often the most powerful ones.

If you’re working on nervous system healing and want support, I offer both small somatic healing groups (Sanctuary) and 1:1 somatic nervous system recovery sessions.

Many people expect relaxation to feel instantly good.

But when the nervous system finally leaves survival mode, something different often happens.

You might suddenly feel:

• tired
• emotional
• hungry
• foggy
• quiet

Nothing is wrong.

Your body may be completing stress responses that were interrupted when you had to keep functioning.

For many people, this is the first time their system has had enough safety to finish what it started.

Healing doesn’t always look like calm.

Sometimes it looks like the body finally exhaling.

This is a normal part of nervous system regulation and trauma recovery.

03/05/2026

Many people think anxiety means something is wrong with them.

But often what we call anxiety is simply an unfinished arrival.

The nervous system is still scanning, orienting, and trying to determine if the environment is safe.

Many of us were never given enough time to arrive in our bodies before being expected to perform, speak, or engage.

So the body stays slightly activated.

But when orientation completes - when the body actually registers “I’m here now” - calm often begins naturally.

Not because we forced it.
Because the nervous system finally finished arriving.

This is one of the foundations of trauma-informed somatic healing.

Safety first.
Then regulation follows.

If you’re someone who has tried to “manage anxiety” for years, sometimes what the body actually needs is time to land.

Something fascinating happened in group this week.

Several people thought:

“nothing is happening”

But their breathing slowed

their muscles softened

their eyes unfocused

their voices lowered

They weren’t bored.

They were entering parasympathetic regulation.

For a nervous system used to stimulation, calm doesn’t feel good at first.

It feels empty.

Safety is unfamiliar before it becomes restorative.

This is why slow somatic work is so different from coping skills - we aren’t trying to manage symptoms, we’re helping the body learn a new baseline.
