The Jasmine & Central Delivery Suite Snowdrop Appeal Helping to Ease the Loss of an Angel Baby

The Jasmine & Central Delivery Suite Snow-Drop Appeal has been set up by Greg & Jen to raise £100,000 towards setting up a new Specialist Unit or area for Bereaved Parents of Still Birth, Miscarriage and Early Baby Loss at Derriford Hospital, Plymouth which is away from the busy maternity area hopefully to ease the trauma of their loss. Once we meet our objective at Derriford Hospital, Plymouth, Devon we would like to try and extend this appeal to other hospitals to ensure all hospitals have the same facilities.

A brief message from us all at Snowdrop, to wish you all a very peaceful time, a time to remember those no longer with us, a time to reflect and a time of sincerer gratitude from us to you, for helping to achieve the opening the New Snowdrop Suite earlier this October.
We couldn't have done this without all the kind support and help so many individuals, groups, businesses and so many more who came forward to help, so thank you to everyone.
Since opening the new suite, we have had another wonderful offer of support and help to get us up and running again in the new year with a brand new purpose built webpage. Its going to be designed and put together by students and staff from Plymouth City College and we are really looking forward to working with them in the forth coming months and seeing this take fruition.
Until then we hope you all have a peaceful time and wish you all the very best for the New Year.

With love and kind wishes,

Greg & Jen,
Lynne & Suzie

It's soon to be a New Year, New Beginning 😀
We are looking for someone, or a business who can help us build a New Webpage for free and help us maintain it, or do it in such a way, its easy for us to maintain please.
We have our domain address, but sadly not the skill set to build a new site, so we'd dearly love someone to help us please.
Although we achieved our ultimate goal of opening the New Snowdrop Suite in October 2023, we will be continuing the fund raising for many projects to come in relation to this.
Our first new goal is to plan, develop and get the new private garden area completed outside the 'Family Room' for the Snowdrop Suite.
We would also like to raise funds to help maintain the New Suite, its equipment and décor, so that it always remains fresh and new to anyone who sadly needs to use it.
If anyone could help us with the first part of this journey and get us up and running with a new website, it would make such a difference.
There has been such an overwhelming amount of help and support from so many to get us this far, and we are so grateful for everything you've done. It would be totally amazing if we could keep this support going, to enable us to do more in the years to come.
If you are a web designer or website developer, we'd love to hear from you.
You can contact us by email at snowdropappeal@yahoo.com and we will reply promptly.
As always, we are only a small team of four, but our strength to make changes comes from the larger team of YOU.

With love,
Greg, Jen, Lynne and Suzi x

Dear all,

We are proud to announce the opening of the new Snowdrop Suite today at Derriford Hospital, Plymouth.

The Suite was formally opened by the esteemed Donna Ockenden with Ann James and Sue Wilkins.

We were delighted to part of this wonderful day, albeit a little overwhelmed at times.

Its only with the efforts of many of you, and the hospital team that have made our dream come to fruition.

Please enjoy these few pictures we took during today at the opening, knowing that this new suite will hopefully make such a positive difference to those who sadly follow in our footsteps.

With Love,

Greg, Jen & late baby Jasmine

Dear all,

A couple of weeks ago, I posted that the Snowdrop Appeal Team had some exciting news which was to be announced soon, and this is now that moment.

Around three months ago, Jen and myself were contacted by Kirsty Willis, Bereavement Midwife, Plymouth Hospitals NHS Trust, who asked if we would like to visit the “New Snowdrop Suite”.

It emerged that work had continued with the development of the new unit which so many of us dreamed of, and also have tirelessly been raising funds towards, in addition to many others who have also done so themselves.

This news and invite came as a very welcomed suprise to us at the time, and we are sure many of you will also be delighted to hear this fantastic news and see some sneaky pictures I managed to take on the day.

Both Jen and myself were overwhelmed by the amount of work and thought that has gone into developing the new unit, which has included all of the suggestions that have made over the last fourteen years via the Snowdrop Appeal, and in addition, those made by so many others involved in reaching this point.

There have been many other professions involved in the development plus a great deal of networking and research done by the hospital team to meticulously plan everything and bring it all together.

This specialist bereavement unit allows those who are experiencing the loss of a baby, to have labour care in an area separated from the main Labour Ward.

It has been designed as a protected space to allow privacy for parents and their families.

Thanks to incredibly generous donations over many years, we are now officially opening the unit which comprises a delivery room, a double en-suite bedroom, an area for baby, a kitchenette, and a private waiting area.

Please find some pictures I took on the day Jen and I visited. We hope these will give you some idea of the unit, the atmosphere and thought that has gone into developing it.

On the day I took these pictures, there were still some finalities being completed in the unit, including a garden area outside which will be to the left in the picture of the private entrance.

The unit will be opened by the Trusts esteemed guest, Donna Ockenden on the 17th October. We are sure that there will be some press releases on the day of shortly afterwards and hopefully some more final pictures of all the work completed.

With kind wishes,

Greg, Jen and the Snowdrop Team x”
