I know it seems my job is easy but I promise you it’s not!
Being a personal trainer involves a lot more than just exercise and fitness. As a personal trainer, you are responsible for managing your own business, which means you have to wear many different hats. You're not only the trainer but also the admin, accountant, scheduler, and nutritionist.
One of the most important aspects of being a personal trainer is the training itself. You have to be knowledgeable, skilled, and experienced in designing and executing effective workout routines that meet the individual needs and goals of each of your clients. You have to understand the science behind exercise and nutrition to create meal plans and monitor your clients' progress and adjust their workouts accordingly.
However, that's just a small part of what you have to do as a personal trainer. You also have to manage your clients' schedules, appointments, and payments. You have to be organized and attentive to detail to make sure everything runs smoothly and you’re able to pay your facility bills and rent as well as your personal bills.
Dealing with different personalities among clients can also be challenging. As a personal trainer, you sometimes have to be a therapist or counselor to your clients, as they may come to you with personal issues that they want to address through physical activity. Being able to communicate effectively, manage expectations, and motivate each client differently is key.
One of the most frustrating and time-consuming parts of being a personal trainer is dealing with clients who don't pay their monthly dues on time. It's important to have a solid payment system set up that is fair to both you and your clients (I’m still working out kinks), and to communicate your policies clearly from the outset.
In summary, being a personal trainer requires a combination of technical skills, business savvy, and interpersonal skills to succeed. While it can be challenging, it can also be immensely rewarding to see your clients achieve their fitness goals, improve their health, and transform their lives.
So please respect your PT we put a lot of time and effort into what we do.
