It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Mary Nix on Saturday, September 27th. She was an amazing person and a friend to all. Her beautiful smile and funny wit was what so many loved about her. Mary was a champion for School Nutrition and the health of children across the state. She served as Georgia's State President in 1977-78 and was the National President of the American School Food Service Association, what is now SNA, in 1981-82. Mary always had the best stories! You will be greatly missed Mary Nix!
Viewing will be Wednesday, October 1st at 9:00 a.m. and services at 10:00 a.m. at Sandy Plains Baptist Church, 2825 Sandy Plains Road, Marietta, Ga.
If you would like to honor her memory, please make a donation to Sandy Plains Baptist Church. Mayes-Ward Funeral Home, Marietta, Ga in charge of arrangements.
