Happy Thanksgiving from Georgia Highlands Medical Services! We want to wish you and your family joy, peace and happiness during this time of celebration. Please note that our offices will be closed on Thursday and Friday November 27th and 28th to celebrate with our families and loved ones. Express Care at Cu***ng Family Health Center in Cu***ng will be open on Saturday November 29th from 9:00-1:00 for sick patient visits. If you experience a medical emergency, please dial 911 or go to the nearest hospital emergency room. Thank you!

Did you know? Strep throat is caused by a type of bacteria called Group A Streptococcus. The most common symptoms include a sore throat, fever, headache, stomach pain, and swollen lymph nodes. Unlike viral infections, strep throat usually doesn’t cause a runny nose, cough, or congestion. So if your child has a sore throat along with those cold-like symptoms, it’s more likely a viral infection rather than strep.

Our Commitment to Care Award recognizes individuals who go above and beyond in supporting Georgia Highlands, our patients, and the overall health and wellbeing of our community.

Mayor Brumbalow has been a tremendous advocate for Georgia Highlands’ programs and initiatives, as well as for organizations such as Northside Hospital Forsyth and Creative Enterprises Forsyth, all working toward a shared goal of bringing quality healthcare and wellness resources to every Cu***ng/Forsyth resident.

Mission Accomplished! ✅
This morning, the Consulate General of Guatemala in Atlanta proudly hosted a Health Fair in collaboration with the Consulates General of Honduras and Colombia.

Thanks to this joint effort, attendees received free and essential health services, including:
🩺 Breast exams
🧪 Glucose, cholesterol, and blood pressure checks
🧬 HIV testing
🧑‍⚖️ Immigration counseling

A heartfelt thank you to Iglesia Emmanuel De Canton Georgia, for their generous support and the dedication of their volunteers, who helped make this event a success.
