Originally founded in 1967 by Dr. Irving Staley, Marietta Eye Clinic has become one of the Southeast's most prominent and technologically advanced eye care practices. With 31 doctors who are experts in their field, 12 metro-Atlanta locations, and an exclusive ambulatory surgery center, we offer patients access to high-quality, compassionate care.

Services include comprehensive and surgical eye care, cataract surgery, LASIK eye surgery, optical services, oculoplastic and aesthetics, and more. We have simplified the process of accessing premier care without having to attend a separate surgery center or hospital.

Spotlight:

Dr. Eve J. Higginbotham

Born and raised in New Orleans, Dr. Higginbotham became interested in science at an early age, thanks to her parents, who were both public school educators. She holds both Bachelors and Master Degrees in Science from MIT, a Medical Degree from Harvard Medical School, and a Master in Law degree from the University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School.

Dr. Higginbotham completed her residency in ophthalmology at LSU and a glaucoma fellowship at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary in Boston.

As a researcher, Dr. Higginbotham has numerous interests, ranging from ocular pharmacology to health disparities, equity, and policy. Dr. Higginbotham was the first woman to head a university-based ophthalmology department in the United States, when serving as Chair of the Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences Department at the University of Maryland in Baltimore (1994-2006). Currently, she serves as Vice Dean for Inclusion, Diversity, and Equity University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine.

Age-Related Macular Degeneration (AMD) is the leading cause of blindness among older Americans, but new treatments have dramatically changed the course of this disease over the last 10 years, making AMD more manageable than ever before. During AMD Awareness Month in February, the American Academy of Ophthalmology is reminding people with AMD that they can save their vision thanks to recent treatment advances, but early detection is a critical first step.
