I have lived in Alpharetta since 1997 and practiced Nursing since 1991. My clinical area of expertise is Pediatrics and I am an IBCLC (International Board Certified Lactation Consultant). I am a Registered Nurse and licensed in Georgia as a Lactation Consultant. My years of Nursing include experience at Egleston Children’s Hospital at Emory, Children’s at Scottish Rite, Pediatric Immediate/Urgent Care, Pediatric Outpatient Surgery Center, Northside Hospital in Outpatient Surgery and Lactation.
♥Babies are my favorite people♥
Wonderlove Lactation Services provides comprehensive lactation support for mothers and babies. In-home, office and virtual lactation consultations are available for mothers and infants experiencing difficulty with breastfeeding. I lead a support group for mothers and babies on Friday mornings 10:30-12 at the Milton Public Library, 855 Mayfield Road, that is free of charge. Please visit my website: wonderlovelactation.com for more information or to book online. I know that mothers who receive support, encouragement and evidence based information will be successful. I am a firm believer in the power of breastfeeding and the amazing benefits for both mothers and babies. The first couple of days and the first three weeks really make a difference in your breastfeeding success. Early support helps you get off to a great start and establish a good milk supply. Once you do that, breastfeeding will get easier for you and your baby. Enjoy your baby and everything about motherhood. Please call or e-mail for an appointment

Every morning when you wake up, you and your baby have the opportunity to learn something new. If breastfeeding is on your radar, getting help can help you and your baby reach your goals. I remember going home with my first baby after 4.5 days of labor and 24 hours after he was born we were discharged (it was the 90's and you were considered good to go at 24 hours after delivery:(). I felt so lost and neither of us knew what to do. I just assumed it would be easy and he and I would start breastfeeding and do so for at least a year. Well, we made it to almost 18 months but not without help. I saw lactation once and it changed our trajectory and it became the one of the happiest part s of being a mother. Help and support throughout your breastfeeding journey is a text, call or email away! Go to wonderlovelactation.com to learn more or schedule an office visit or to learn more and (404)449-5595 or wonderlovelactation@gmail.com.

Happy World Breastfeeding Week! This photo is from my support group 7 years ago. You can come to a free support group at the Chamblee Public Library on August 15th from 10:30-12. Wonderlove Lactation Services is here to support women and babies. Having a family and trying to keep up with all the things is often overwhelming. Help is a click/text, phone call or email away. Wonderlovelactation.com.
You can have an in-home visit, office visit, take an hour class or attend a free support group for women and babies through Wonderlove Lactation Services. I am the owner and a pediatric RN practicing since 1991 and I will be the person who you see. As a solo provider, I can devote the time I need to work with each family. I am also here to support you and your family to help you reach YOUR goals.
♥Did you know that the average feeding for a newborn in the first days of life is about 4-20 ml (an ounce is 30 ml)! You have plenty of colostrum for your baby. Learning to hand express colostrum after 38 weeks helps you have more when baby arrives. A prenatal visit with me in office, virtually or at an Accessible Breastfeeding Care class can help you learn this amazing way to feed your baby after delivery.♥

Babies are tiny people with tiny bellies. Most women are told to breastfeed every 3 hours and most breastfed babies cannot go that long between feeds. The more often you offer, the easier it is to feed your baby. Babies are here to grow, not to sleep. They will sleep between feeds and when they are held but need to eat frequent, small meals to grow their brains and bodies, have energy and be able to eat well. Your baby is really smart and needs help with learning how to breastfeed well and be efficient. Breastfeeding babies learn quickly and will eat almost anytime you offer. If breastfeeding is challenging or painful, reach out for help. Help is a phone call, text or email away!

Sometimes, after a baby breastfeeds, they may be rooting and seem like they are still hungry. I always remind parents that rooting and sucking are primitive reflexes and a baby's "go-to" for comfort. This photo is a great example of a content baby with relaxed hands. If your baby has relaxed hands, loose arms and will take a paci or is easily distracted and drowsy, they are not hungry. Learning about your baby and their behaviors makes life easier for both of you:) If you need help, please reach out by phone, text or email (404)449-5595 or message me. You can also register for a small group class with hands on help for you and your baby at Wonderlovelactation.com. Accessible Breastfeeding Care Classes are held every Friday at 1924 Clairmont Road, Decatur, GA 30033. Sign up with your friends!

Becoming an IBCLC was a goal of mine as soon as I had my first baby. He taught me so much and I continue to learn what kind of support women and babies need after delivery. It took me almost 20 years after he was born to sit for my boards. I have learned so much and find that being in private practice helps me meet women where they are at and help them reach their goals for how they want to feed their baby. When women give birth to another human, it is the most vulnerable time for her and her baby. Getting help early and understanding why you feel the way you feel helps you navigate those early days and years. Thinking about birth and what follows from a baby's perspective also helps you understand some of their behavior and needs, too. I am forever grateful to all of the women who trust me to help them during this amazing part of their life.

I want to say thank you to all of the families who have let me into their lives at such a wonderful time and trusted me to help them start and navigate their breastfeeding journey. This has been a tough year and I cannot express how much your support and trust means. As I start my 8th year in private practice, I am looking forward to trying new things and working with more and more families♥
