As a certified yoga instructor and event planner, The Rolling Mat is a unique platform that brings the studio and yoga practice to you anywhere, especially outdoors to tap into our daily environment. In addition, I coordinate fun, yoga related events that will focus on well being, fellowship, team building, fitness, and nutrition. My business is also an exciting and creative addition to existing events, such as sorority/university events, bachelorette parties, corporate events, reunions, birthday parties and more! The yoga sequences are creatively themed and can also be structured to meet the needs of an event or particular group of people. I am able to teach a wide variety of styles from beginner to advanced yogis. These styles include, beginners flow, slow and steady flow, fast-pace flow, peek-pose flow, restorative yoga, meditation and more. All sequences are put to appropriate playlists that are sure to get you moving or take you into a relaxing mental and physical state! 🧘🏼‍♀️ 🥂 At first glance, a mobile yoga business and a mobile bartending business may seem worlds apart.

But the intention behind both is rooted in the same foundation: creating environments where people feel happy, comfortable, and at ease.

On the bar side – alcohol is only a small part of the equation.

What truly matters is the experience — the stress we remove, the comfort we create, and the hospitality we bring to every interaction.

🙏🏻 The same intention guides my work in yoga, where dynamic and restorative flows help people find peace and presence.

Last week, I had the opportunity to mentor KSU students as they prepared signature zero‑proof drinks for their upcoming faculty gala… back on the same campus where I led students through energizing flows on the campus green..

Whether I’m teaching a class or guiding future hospitality professionals, my purpose remains consistent: elevate the experience and support others with intention and care.

Full circle moments. Different services, same heart.

Hello fabulous yogis & friends 👋

It’s been a minute since we last connected.

I took a time out…

🧠 For my own mental health…

Which provided a lot of perspective and encouraging focus on my intentions and direction for myself and this community.

There were many redefining moments that called for my full attention!

✨ I’m so grateful that I listened

Many students have been asking me - “how’s the yoga business going?”

😌 I’m happy to report that many wonderful things are happening and I think it’s time to fill you in.

Admittedly, I took my foot off the gas pedal of my mobile yoga studio and allowed myself to coast, allowing the universe to work some magic 🪄 ✨

This led me to…

🧘🏼‍♀️ Getting back to my practice… as a student.

🌎 Leading two international yoga retreats!

🙌 Providing yoga classes for corporate groups - but at a higher level of corporate retreats & large scale wellness events!

💻 Improving my online program to help teachers earn more income by teaching impactful classes that give them more time & energy

🥂 Launched a second business ()
Expanding my social butterfly wings, love for events and mixology skills - primarily for corporate & private functions.

🧘🏼‍♀️ 🎉 It’s a fun life, bringing the peace and the party. One I never saw coming and one that I wouldn’t trade.

There’s a lot I have to share with my yoga community and I look forward to the continued journey!

A statement that makes my heart sad but a real place some teachers are in at the start of our conversations 🧘🏼‍♀️

Things I hear a lot:

“I have to give up on my yoga business because I wasn't making money”

“It’s just too hard to be a yoga teacher in today's world”

“I’m not good enough to teach corporate class. I need more YTT hours”

💁🏼‍♀️ Are you telling yourself the same story?

It’s like saying you’ll never attempt an inversion again because you didn’t land it the first 3 times!

💝 Here’s some tough love (sorry, not sorry) - you’re giving up too easily.

Maybe because…

👉🏻Your first attempt to land a well paying client didn’t work

👉🏻One workshop bombed

👉🏻You consistently post but engagement is low

👋 I get it! When things don’t work out, it can be a defeating feeling.

💗 But I’m here to tell you - YOU GOT THIS!

The truth is…You just need a clear roadmap of action steps. You don’t need endless training OR to give up and get a “real job” to forge a great career.

You can create a path to what you desire through your passion.

I ALWAYS get asked this…

🤔 How do you keep consistent numbers?

🤨 Why does business slow during the summer months (people are off!)?

To be honest, yoga businesses have ebb and flow in numbers just like many other small businesses.

It wasn’t until I was clear on my target audience (corporate wellness) that I started seeing more consistency in numbers and income.

Questions like these turned from ones I use to dread to do ones I felt confident in answering.

❤️Now I’m answering more specific questions like:❤️👇

🧐 How did you get a contract to work with companies like Whole Foods and AT&T?

I LOVE when I get asked this because I’m able to give really good advice about the process of getting these contracts.

Here’s a version of what I usually say…

☝🏻 You have to niche down so that you can speak effectively to your audience (yoga for everyone is NOT a strategy)

✌🏻 You have to get clear with your WHY and owning your WORTH

When you are clear on both of the W’s - you become someone that or your clients (companies) want to invest in.

Are you getting the results you want in your yoga business?

📆 Maybe you’re posting you class schedule every week and still experiencing low turnout

🗣 Maybe you’re networking but feel that your message is not quite getting across

🤷🏼‍♀️ Perhaps when you ask yourself this question, you discover that you aren’t sure of the results you’re expecting.

Some teachers in our community have confided that the old studio model of advertising class continues to result in low turnout and inconsistency 😑

🤔 Others have said that networking isn’t producing the outcomes they expected.

And many have admitted that SOMETHING needs so they are exploring a different audience

🧘🏼‍♀️ You’ve heard me say this before…and I’ll say it again because it IS the running backbone in my business
Annnddd..

It’s not a complicated marketing strategy, more teacher training, or more “to-do” list items…. It’s deeper than that.

Clarity of direction & vision are two MUST HAVE components that will help you craft a well spoken message for your audience to not only hear… but to understand.

Without these, you’ll be driving down the same road and taking the same pit stops (twilight zone🫥) resulting in less motivation and burnout

🥏 Don’t go into end of year without a game plan for your business!

Can you believe it's already AUGUST!

We are staring down the barrel of the “great reset” we all experience in September.

🧘🏼‍♀️ We all experience a little lull in the summer (most businesses do)

Stephanie Mitchell is a certified yoga instructor, community leader and yoga mentor. The Rolling Mat is an adventurous mobile yoga studio that implements fun and uplifting community driven events at festivals, corporate functions, breweries and by request. All of the equipment is provided and each event is strategically promoted by Stephanie and her team of yogis. As an entrepreneur in the yoga industry, Stephanie has learned a lot about what it takes to run a successful yoga business - beyond the brick and mortar studio. She mentors other certified and aspiring yogis through her Rollin’ Yogi Mentorship Program structured to help yogis in business make a successful living doing what they love, and on their time in their own unique way.
