Grind Dining is an innovative "patent pending" processing method designed to restore dignity and enjoyment of mealtime for individuals with cognitive, muscular, and chewing disorders. We are a Food-Focused Consulting company that provides training, using our methods and technique , to Senior Living, Rehabilitation , and Home Healthcare Communities. We address and solve the problems of the unique and complex dining needs of those individuals who can no longer use a knife, fork, or spoon to eat, or are unable to chew as a result of tooth loss or dental disease. What we do:
1. We apply our "patent-pending" techniques using cooked freshly ground foods in a way that retains the full taste, texture, and flavor of the meal.
2. We present the transformed meal in small various bite-size food wrappings that are nutritionally complete, visually attractive, easy to handle and eaten without caregiver assistance.
3. Our dining service standards include meals that are served with linen tablecloths, napkins, table centerpieces, and when requested, aromatherapy prior to meal service. Our results:
1. Memory care residents improve intake by more than 30 percent.
2. Ninety percent of respondents say they approve of the Grind Dining choices.
3. Kitchen costs are reduced; separate menus are eliminated; fewer caregivers are needed to work at mealtime.
4. The facility's ability to meet criteria of resident independence is improved without compromising safety or jeopardizing the nutritional needs of its most vulnerable population. Research shows a pleasurable dining experience leads to higher satisfaction ratings among residents and drives higher occupancy levels. Our experience shows pleasurable dining can easily be made available to all residents and with it, a return to dining with dignity for many of them.
