When you're experiencing infertility it can feel like life is happening all around you…

Pregnancy announcements.
Baby showers.
New chapters.

And somehow, you’re still here—waiting.

If you’ve felt left behind in your family building journey, it doesn’t mean you are behind.

It means you’re in something incredibly hard.

There’s nothing wrong with you for feeling this way 🤍

This is something I see often—

People going to appointments, following every recommendation, staying hopeful, showing up…

And still feeling like they’re unraveling internally.

Because infertility and family building challenges aren’t just about effort.

They’re emotional experiences that impact your sense of control, identity, and safety.

You’re not failing.
You’re responding to something really hard.

This month, I’m focusing on something that doesn’t get talked about enough:
infertility and the emotional reality of family building.

Because infertility isn’t just physical.
It’s grief. It’s identity. It’s relationships. It’s hope and heartbreak existing at the same time.

If you’ve ever felt like your body is failing you,
like you’re falling behind,
or like no one truly understands what this is like…

You’re not alone in this.

Over the next few weeks, I’ll be sharing more about:
✨ The emotional toll of infertility
✨ The impact on relationships
✨ Inclusive family building (including LGBTQ+ journeys)
✨ And how therapy can support you through it

If this is part of your story, you’re in the right place 🤍

Over the past month, we’ve explored what women have carried — and what it means to begin putting some of that down.

From self-preservation and breaking silence, to boundaries, burnout, and rest — each post in our Her Impact, Our Healing series has been an invitation to reflect on how history, culture, and lived experiences shape the way women move through the world.

And now we end with this:

Reclaiming sovereignty.

The process of choosing yourself.
Trusting your voice.
Honoring your needs — even when it feels unfamiliar.

Because healing isn’t just about understanding what you’ve been through.

It’s also about deciding what you no longer want to carry forward.

✨ Reflection:
Where in your life are you ready to choose yourself differently?

As we close out this series, we’re also beginning a new one:

Motherhood Mondays.

Each week, we’ll be exploring the mental and emotional experiences of motherhood — from the invisible load to identity shifts and the pressure to “do it all.”

If you’ve been following along, thank you for being part of these conversations.

And if something resonated with you this month, you don’t have to navigate it alone.

At TheraRise Counseling & Consulting, we support women in unpacking patterns, building healthier boundaries, and creating more sustainable ways of living.

Rest is often treated like something you have to earn.

After you’ve done enough.
After you’ve given enough.
After everything else is taken care of.

But for many women, rest doesn’t feel natural — it feels uncomfortable.

Because we were taught that our worth is tied to how much we can handle, produce, and carry for others.

So slowing down can bring up guilt.
Anxiety.
The feeling that you should be doing more.

This isn’t a lack of discipline.

It’s a pattern your nervous system learned over time.

In this week’s Her Impact, Our Healing post, we’re exploring the idea of rest as resistance — and why choosing to rest can be an important part of unlearning burnout and over-functioning.

✨ Reflection:
What thoughts come up for you when you try to rest?

If you’re navigating burnout, chronic stress, or the pressure to always stay productive, support can help.

At TheraRise Counseling & Consulting, we work with women who are learning how to slow down, set boundaries, and create more sustainable ways of living.

Some experiences are easier to minimize than to name.

For many survivors, silence isn’t accidental — it’s learned.

It can come from fear of not being believed, being blamed, or being told that what happened “wasn’t that serious.”

Tarana Burke created the Me Too movement to change that.

Her work centers a powerful truth:
You are not alone, and your experience matters.

In this week’s Her Impact, Our Healing post, we’re exploring how naming harm — even privately — can be an important step in the healing process.

Because unspoken experiences don’t disappear.
They often stay in the body, in our relationships, and in the way we move through the world.

Healing doesn’t require sharing your story publicly.
But it often begins with acknowledging it honestly and with compassion.

✨ Reflection:
Have you ever minimized something that hurt you in order to move forward?

If you’re ready to process your experiences in a safe and supportive space, you don’t have to do it alone.

At TheraRise Counseling & Consulting, we provide trauma-informed care to support women navigating their healing journeys.

Many firstborn daughters didn’t just grow up — they adapted.

They became responsible early.
Helpful.
Mature.
Reliable.

Often taking on roles that required them to care for others, manage emotions, and hold things together in ways that went beyond their age.

Over time, that responsibility can become part of your identity.

You might find yourself:

Always being the dependable one
Struggling to ask for help
Feeling responsible for other people’s emotions
Putting your needs last without realizing it

In this week’s Her Impact, Our Healing post, we’re exploring how early responsibility shapes the way many firstborn daughters show up in adulthood — and what it means to begin unlearning the pressure to carry everything.

✨ Reflection:
What responsibilities did you take on early that you’re still carrying today?

If you’re navigating anxiety, burnout, or the pressure to always “have it together,” you don’t have to do it alone.

At TheraRise Counseling & Consulting, we support women in unpacking these patterns and building healthier, more sustainable ways of living and relating.

Happy First Day of Spring 🌸

A new season brings a gentle reminder that growth takes time.
May your flowers bloom—and may your mental health bloom with them.

You are allowed to start fresh, to grow at your own pace, and to become something new. 🌱💛

Today feels especially fitting to highlight Dolores Huerta.

A lifelong labor leader and activist, Huerta has continued to use her voice to advocate for dignity, fairness, and collective power — reminding us that change doesn’t happen by staying silent or accepting what is harmful.

Her work has always centered a powerful truth:

People deserve better — and they have the right to demand it.

In this week’s post from our Her Impact, Our Healing series, we’re exploring how her legacy connects to something deeply relevant in our everyday lives:

Boundaries.

Many women are taught to endure, overextend, and push through — at work, in relationships, and in caregiving roles.

But boundaries are not selfish.
They are a way of saying: this matters, and I matter too.

Huerta’s work reminds us that boundaries aren’t just personal — they can also be collective acts of self-respect and change.

✨ Reflection:
Where in your life are you tolerating something that feels unsustainable?

If you’re ready to explore boundaries, burnout, or the pressure to over-function, support can help.

At TheraRise Counseling & Consulting, we work with women navigating stress, emotional overwhelm, and the work of reclaiming their time and energy.
