Opening keynote speaker, Dr Renee Boynton -Jarrett, pediatrician and social epidemiologist, at Boston University, challenged nurses how to be trauma aware and to "Go to Bat for Health, Well ess, and Resilience". She encouraged the nurses to show their "cape" and engage with other school staff as part of a multi disciplinary team.

Day 2 of conference was filled with lots of great presentations by Dr. Smith on Dermatology, Corey Kirby on legal considerations for school nursing, and a panel discussion on va**ng. The panel consisted of Dr. Evan Fountain, pulmonologist, Suzanne Sumner, Health Services Coordinator Colquitt County Schools, Patti Atkinson, Climate specialist, North GA RESA, and Mark Muma, Safety Program Manager, GaDOE. We had enriching topics to round out our main conference first day: dermatology, importance of professional nurse, diabetes, asthma friendly schools, DPH update and nurse self care.
