Sometimes we're seen as the spouse of the widow, the daughter that lives far away, a friend, a sister, case manager, therapist, lawyer, or prayer partner. We're there to listen without judgement, soothe with our voice, heal with our touch, care without ceasing, all while comforting their needs while ill. I intentionally speak life and not death, give hope, share a smile, make them laugh, and give wanted hugs. Not expecting anything in return.. I just keep showing up as the Nurse.
