February marks American Heart Month, emphasizing the need for everyone, particularly women, to prioritize their cardiovascular well-being.
During this Heart Month, the Division for Heart Disease and Stroke Prevention (DHDSP) urges women to be attuned to their heart health and advocate for their well-being. Shockingly, a significant number of women in the United States face preventable heart-related illnesses and fatalities, with almost half of U.S. women unaware that heart disease stands as the leading cause of death among them.
This month, we aim to spotlight this crucial issue to eliminate delayed recognition, diagnosis, and treatment of cardiac events, such as heart attacks, in women.
Join us in our Facebook group "Some Kind of Chronic Illness," where we'll dive deep into discussions and awareness activities during American Heart Month. Let's work together to promote heart health for all.
