This Parkinson's Awareness Month, we are sharing some personal stories from those at CaraVita living with this diagnosis in their families each and every day.

First is CaraVita's founder Beth Cayce and her husband, Mark—who are celebrating their April 1st anniversary from the ICU today.

Her husband Mark has lived with Parkinson's for years, and in Beth's words, "his determination never faded." Fifteen months ago, he fell down 18 stairs to their basement. A traumatic brain injury. A long, hard road back to walking through the woods he loves.

Beth has walked this road as both a wife and a clinician. Her message to every family:
"Parkinson's does not exist in isolation. It quietly affects every other condition, every recovery, and every risk."

That truth is at the heart of how CaraVita supports individuals returning home after a hospitalization. As Beth puts it: "Careful observation isn't optional — it's essential. Watch for subtle changes. Ask questions. Advocate early."
