Pumpkin Spice is BACK… and so is the sugar overload.

A Grande Pumpkin Spice Latte from Starbucks has 50 GRAMS of sugar.
That’s:
12 ½ teaspoons of sugar in one cup.
The same as eating 4 glazed donuts. 🍩🍩🍩🍩

No matter how you spin it, that’s not cozy fall vibes — that’s a metabolic nightmare. 🙅‍♀️

✨ My favorite lunchbox for kids — it makes eating fun, colorful, and a little adventurous! 🍎

I had to dig these photos out from the archives, and honestly… gave myself a well-deserved pat on the back for putting so much love into creating meals that were both creative and nutritious. 🥦🥕

What I love most? It’s made from almost 50% recycled stainless steel and there’s even a smaller version, perfect for lighter meals or snack time.
Because eating well should always feel like an adventure!

Piggybacking on my previous video about why diets don’t work, here’s something important to understand: when you gain weight, your body and brain change in ways that make it harder to lose it.

When you try to lose weight:

⚡ Your metabolism slows down → you burn fewer calories.
⚡ You feel less energized → moving becomes harder.
⚡ Your brain craves more sugar & fat → hello cravings!

Why does this happen?
It’s an ancient survival mechanism — designed to protect us during times of famine. But since we no longer live in scarcity, this same mechanism works against us when trying to lose weight.

As Jerold Mande, professor of nutrition at Harvard, put it:
“The body always fights back. We have billions of years of evolution to make sure that weight gets back within five years.”

Mark your calendars for October 1st — because we don’t have to walk this path alone.

🌿 For most of us, weight gain doesn’t happen overnight. If you paused reading this and compared a photo of yourself today with one from high school or your wedding day—you’d probably notice a difference.

It happens slowly and for many reasons: we get distracted, we enjoy the dopamine hit from a dessert (or three 🍰), we move less, life takes over, our social circles change, we get comfortable—or just plain tired.

Then comes the wake-up call: a health scare, a pair of jeans that won’t button, or that one unflattering photo. And suddenly we want the weight gone in 3 days… or a week. But let’s be honest: it took 10–20 years to put on, and we expect it gone instantly? 🤔

📊 Research backs this up:
Brown Medical School tracked 4,000 people who lost weight—only about 20% kept it off more than one year.
A University of Kentucky review found that, 5 years later, the average person in a structured weight loss program kept off just 3% of their body weight.
