The Coweta County Sheriff’s Office is warning residents about a scam involving callers falsely claiming to be law enforcement employees.

According to the sheriff’s office, scammers are targeting family members of inmates and telling them a bond can be paid over the phone using a credit card, debit card or gift card. Officials said those claims are not legitimate.
