We’re excited to announce our new PAWS Wellness Partner: Dr. Megan Harris! 🩺🐶🐾
✨Megan Harris, DVM✨
Born in Decatur, Georgia, Dr. Harris earned a degree in Biology and Animal Science from Alabama A&M University before receiving her veterinary doctorate from The University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine in 2015. In 2019, Dr. Harris created her business as a full time traveling general practice, urgent care, emergency veterinary services and veterinary consultant. Dr. Harris is licensed to practice in Georgia, Virginia, DC, Maryland, Texas, and California.
After almost a decade of intensity in emergent veterinary care, Dr. Harris began to burn out. Her work life balance was unstable and her quality of life began to suffer. With this realization, Dr. Harris began to make some lifestyle changes and focus on simple principals that have changed her habits for the better and added to her knowledge for medical practice. By focusing on healing with herbs, nutrition, movement and exercise, sleep, and stress management; She has redesigned her medical focus toward a holistic and functional approach. Dr. Harris’ passion for healing is a purpose she feels is imperative to share with others while on life’s journey.
“I typically recommend use of CBD or plant based cannabinoids as an initial anxiolytic for hyperactive canines or for pets that become anxious during stressful events like traveling, noise aversion such as firework or other triggers. CBD has also been linked to a variety of other effects including managing pain, seizure control, and acting as an anti-inflammatory.
One of the best things about CBD is its ability to safely decrease anxiety without sedation. So whether you are managing your pets chronic health concerns or simply looking to improve your pets well-being, exploring CBD may be a worthwhile endeavor.”
Show some love to Dr. Meg! ✨🩺🐾❤️🐶
