Join us on Sunday, February 9th to collectively create & process, taking our memories & “weaving loss into life,” grief into the beautiful quilts of our beings & life’s stories. 🌀✨🌀✨

Along with & , this Sunday afternoon, we’re carving poetry into the embrace of memories of loved ones and/or past versions of ourselves. Asking the questions of what did we need then, what do we wish we could have said…taking the time to create ongoing tools for moments of overwhelm when we need them the most.

Finding the steps to continue loving the things we’ve “lossed”, the versions we’ve lossed & those we are becoming🕊️✨

Poetry meets cypher meets communal “therapy.”Walk away with available tools to expand in your creative expression, spiritual grounding practices (if you so choose) & ways to show yourself full-body support with ancient wellness and foodways principals.

This space is intended to communally support your mind, body & spirit through the tools of laughter, food, joy, wellness tools & much much more.

We had such a great class on Sunday!🌟Thank you to everyone who came, it was so heartwarming being able to share these ancient tools with you all 🌿

We shared recipes for:
🍒 A Daily Digestive Flax Seed Chutney you can sprinkle on your soups, sandwiches & more 👌
🍒Takra 🥛 - an ancient Ayurvedic churned herbal buttermilk used as a home-made daily probiotic alternative
🍒 & Lastly, Gluten-free Shortbread Cookies. A quick & easy Adaptogenic recipe 🍪

🍯 We then talked of all the places & spaces you can put different oils on & in your body to promote a balanced nervous system, digestion, oral health y más 🦷✨

🧈 The power of ghee! A game changer in my own regimen blowing me away as I was dairy free for almost a decade. Sharing ways to use ghee for mental endurance, tissue and muscle support, & gastrointestinal lubrication.

Kickstarting back this series, Culinary Love Notes next month with Dr. Rupali Biradar M.D. (Ayurveda)🍊🍐🍉🥑🥭

In November’s workshop, we’ll be diving into some core principles that she incorporates into her family’s lifestyle & has advised clients on for over 15 years with her practice Modern Ayurveda Wellness 🌱

Dr. Rupali has touched the lives of many & we’re excited to combine her expertise with my cuilnary background to share some core Ayurvedic principles & practices to help:

This Sattvic Squash Soup has been a life saver & game changer the last few busy weeks!! Been making it kinda non-stop 🤭

It’s so simple, quick & easy to make & takes less than 30 minutes to prepare (recipe below).

Sattvic food is a concept in Ayurveda (which I’ve been learning so much about & can’t wait to share more of in my recipes!) that means it’s food that aims to cultivate harmony between the mind, body, and spirit based on the elemental properties present in the ingredients.

So this soup uses no oil due to steaming the squash, no dried spices - which can be heating for the body & just fresh herbs that keep the system cool.

Also, for my constitution - no onions & garlic which can cause mental imbalances (like anxiety etc.) in excess & for certain combinations.

Then there’s coconut milk which is so creamy & rich. But not heated! Once the squash is done steaming (& still hot) you throw it in the blender with fresh coconut milk, the herbs, peppers and salt & voilà✨

I roasted the pumpkin seeds from the squash & doused them in some of the herbs too to top it off 😻

Ingredients 🌱
- 1 big squash [Can use any squash you like. I’ve used calabaza here] - cut into big chunks (About 3 cups worth)
- 1 tbsp of fresh Rosemary
- 2/3 cups fresh or canned coconut milk
- 2 tbsp of fresh Thyme
- 1 green pepper (serrano or jalapeño)
- 1 tbsp of salt
- 1 tbsp of coco aminos or soy sauce (optional)

Directions
1. Take your chunks of squash & steam them for about 30 minutes.
2. Using gloves, scoop the flesh out while still hot & put it + all other ingredients into a blender & blend it all up! So simple.
3. Top with your favorite veggies or seeds. Here I used steamed brocolli.

The way I love eating & cooking foods from all over, it’s hard for me to like the same flavors past 2/3 days but this right here, I can do like 6 days out of the week 😄
