Post oak (Quercus stellata) is a member of the white oak group with thick, lobed leaves and small, oval-shaped acorns that ripen in a single year. This medium-sized tree is found throughout the state, the southeast and further. The leaf shape is interesting, as Wikipedia notes, it has “three perpendicular terminal lobes, shaped much like a Maltese Cross.”

Museum Admission FREE 10am- 1pm

Join us for FREE holiday crafts! Create ornaments to add to the museum tree and create a FREE Christmas, Hanukkah, or Kwanzaa craft in the lobby to celebrate the holiday season!

The family day event coincides with our current temporary exhibition, "Colors of Peace: President Carter’s Vision Through the Art of Children," which includes over 270 artworks handmade by children from more than 50 countries. The exhibition runs through January 31, 2023.
Museum admission is FREE for visitors from 10am-1pm on December 3rd.

Regular admission: $12 for adults; $10 for Seniors, Military, and College Students; Kids 16 and under are FREE! Museum hours: Tuesday - Saturday, 10am- 4:45 pm.
