I’m in the bed... for now. Feels great. @brothermaars put me on to the @brokenrecordpodcast with Malcolm Gladwell and Rick Rubin and found this gem from the Tyler, the Creator interview. It reminded me of a convo I had with @phyllis.iller about why it’s important to articulate what you like about something. Telling artist you “like” something and not being able to say why, cheats the experience for the viewer and the artist. Connections and communications touch the subconscious, touches your essence in a way that is unique to you. You experience these moments alone. Share that vision. And if you can’t figure out why you like something, explore that.
Global Warming on a local level. How to get people to care. How Trump is reversing green initiatives with pseudo-science from corporate board members. If you hate that dud in office, make sure you remain educated on the things he’s doing or un-doing. @revealnews investigative journaling keeps you up on all kinds of sh*t in this country you need to know about. #globalwarmingisreal #beinggreenwhileblack #changetheworld #ilovepodcasts
@dani_styledme caught a vid of me dancing. Traditional african dance is like therapy for me. I’ve been dancing for about 6 years, but the last 3 have been my most consistent. I do it 3xs a week cos it makes me feel GOOD and you learn so much about tribes and culture. Our ancestors have a dance for EVERYTHING. This dance is Yonki (sp? I dunno.) its a baby naming celebration for the Susu people. This was my second time doing this dance in life. You can see there’s a variation of skill in the group. It’s smooth with some complicated footwork. People ask me if they have beginner classes. They give abbreviated steps, sometimes, but, the teachers from the continent don’t. They just make you do it over and over till you get it. I just make sure I smile and vibe with the groove and feel good. #camlife #aaddf2019 #traditionalwestafricandance #danceislife #danceislove
