Daniel Fast Day 1–“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” ~ Phillipians 4:13

I will TRY to post daily my scripture of the day as well as what I eat and cook. Yesterday, I surprisingly wasn’t hungry until the evening. So I forced myself to eat those nuts and then I ate that snack before dinner (leftovers from New Year’s day).

The last two pics are just old pics for inspo. I plan to do a lot of juices, smoothies, and salads during the Daniel Fast and typically would have only one cooked meal a day unless my body tells me otherwise.

Gotta get through these leftovers before I cook again 😆

The reason I became a doctor was to help MY people in Detroit. I always felt like I was betraying them and would never truly accomplish what I set out to because I settled in Atlanta. Thanks to technology, I am proud to say that I now am able to do what I set out to do.

I now have a medical license in Michigan and am ready to continue serving my people.

Here’s why I recommend 7-9 servings of vegetables and fruits per day.

Studies show amongst many other benefits, it reduces your risk of premature death, and who doesn’t want that?

I push smoothies and juices because they’re a super easy way to get in a ton of veggies and fruits. Be sure to use fresh or frozen because canned seems to have an increased risk of cardiovascular disease and premature death.

Stay tuned for ways to incorporate more cooked veggies/fruits in your diet!

Reminder: Supplementing with antioxidants and vitamins do NOT have the same effects as eating the whole fruit/vegetable.

You're not alone. 😅 Sometimes people just don't know what to do with their thoughts or how to manage stress. Let's face it, we all feel stressed at times! But it doesn't have to be a negative thing. When you practice mindfulness, you can learn how to recognize your state and direct your attention in healthier ways through meditation, guided imagery and breathing exercises.

You can even start simply by living in the moment and paying attention to your surroundings.

Trust me, your body will thank you and you will thank me if start this practice.
