Dry needling is an extremely effective therapeutic tool that Dr. Tori uses with many of her clients. We are now offering dry needling only or cupping only appointments at Moonrise Birth Collective in Winter Park.

Dry needling is similar to acupuncture, and uses the same teeny tiny needles, but Dr. Tori is trained to go deeper into muscle to relieve tension and pain. It can be very helpful in relieving:

✨migraines and cervicogenic headaches
✨jaw pain and tension (TMJ dysfunction)
✨chronic low back pain
✨upper trap and neck tightness
✨tight hips
✨plantar fasciitis and calf pain

We can also dry needle safely during pregnancy anywhere except the low back!

Struggling with stubborn "mom belly" or a "shelf"? Feeling like, since having your baby, you have lost confidence and motivation in returning to workouts that make you feel stronger?

This four week class series is a great way to start to get back on your feet and into a routine. We will start by teaching you what "the core" really is and how to isolate its parts and then build them back together. It is exercise for the mind and body as we retrain that coordination together. As you grasp it, we will progress the difficulty at your pace and apply these concepts to tasks you complete every day. You will leave with an understanding of how to continue to progress yourself back to the workouts that make you feel confident. But also, how you can integrate movement and core work into your everyday for a longer lasting impact.

I will be there to guide you every step of the way throughout this four week commitment to being a stronger version of YOU! I will be able to make personalized recommendations based on what I am seeing, will be available for questions before and after class, and can determine whether there may be more going on that needs to be addressed in order to meet your goals.

I hope you join be on this journey as we start this year off right with taking care of ourselves so that we can better care for everyone we love.

First up is my workshop at TONE Bootcamp in Maitland this Saturday! We will talk all things return to exercise postpartum, leaking with lifting or jumping, hip mobility and back pain post-workout. If you want to get rid of a stubborn mom belly or are not sure what "activating your core" really means - you can't miss this. This workshop is open to ALL, at no charge - simply show up! So many good things are coming and I can't wait to share! But first, here is where we can connect this coming month!
First up on 3/1 I will be at Full Circle Midwifery in Deland, FL to join in the Motherhood Circle and chat all things pelvic floor, postpartum and beyond! So whether you have been experiencing pain, leakage or none of the above - I hope to share knowledge and empower you and your pelvis!

Next up, on 3/11 I will be hosting a free workshop at TONE Bootcamp in Maitland, FL to chat about returning to exercise postpartum, diastasis recti and LEAKING with lifting! If you aren't already a member - don't worry! Come and join the fun, and even take the 9 am class (your first one is free!). I promise everyone will leave knowing a little more about their pelvic floor, how it helps you lift, and why it leaks sometimes!

It's true. Holding baby, picking up baby, feeding baby...all become recurring movements in our day and can start to wear...

It's true. Holding baby, picking up baby, feeding baby...all become recurring movements in our day and can start to wear on our posture, causing neck, shoulder and back pain. Not to mention, that your core is likely in need of some TLC and so can't help support your posture like it normally does. Leading to more compensatory and dysfunctional movement patterns and positions.

Try to keep in mind stacking your ribcage over your pelvis, avoiding the "hip pop", lumbar hyperextension (yes, even with the baby carrier) and keeping your head bent over. Make sure you are supporting seated postures with pillows around you and baby so that everything is relaxed and supported and you don't need to bend forward as much. This will make sure nothing is overworked and creating tension, and your core is in the most optimal position to support you!

Also, remember to breathe! Try exhaling as you lift or transition. This can avoid putting extra pressure through the pelvic floor and abdominals, where they may have difficulty handling it right now.

If you are having pain in your upper back and neck in this postpartum phase, try seeing a pelvic PT! We treat your whole body in order to optimize your pelvic floor and vice versa! Everything is connected and this is what makes my job SO fascinating! Send me a DM if this sounds like you!

This. Is. Never. Normal.

I have hopped on so many calls, received messages, and spoken to so many women and girls of all ages who have been told that their pain is normal, their prolonged bleeding is normal, their everything is normal and casually labeled as "bad periods" as "tough luck" as a prescription for birth control and wave goodbye.

If your cramps are so severe that you are staying home from work or school, vomiting, passing out, or simply immobilized on your couch or bed for the day - you deserve treatment, and you deserve NOT to have to live with this pain. It is real. It's not ok. It's not normal. Our doctors look for life and death, not quality of our days. Those "bad days" add up. It deserves investigation and real treatment. Even if BC helps the pain, the minute you go off of it, you will likely be back in square one, it's not a treatment, it's a bandaid.

Get a second opinion. Find a doctor who listens. You deserve it.

It is never too late to take control of your life and your body.

You never have to live with
- leakage
- urinary frequency + urgency issues
- pain with seggs
- heaviness
- chronic tailbone pain
- chronic low back pain
- abdominal separation (diastasis recti)

Birth was major trauma to your body no matter how you got there. We need to give some TLC the same way as we do for a knee replacement, and without it these issues can grow and snowball and effect every aspect of your life.
