We’re so excited to have Jo-Anne Weltman B.Sc.PT, MASc join us again as a guest on PT Heart to Heart! Jo-Anne is the Co-Founder of
Dynamic Movement Intervention
(DMI) therapy and is the owner of S.M.I.L.E Therapy for Kids in Ontario, Canada.

We will be discussing the FIRST EVER DMI mission trip happening in June 2025!!! We will be going to the Philippines and are so excited to share all the we that have in store with you!

This is the beautiful barn where we get to do hippotherapy… such an amazing place and such precious people. Have had some amazing things happen at that barn!

❤️We’ve both been a little busy doing what we love most-providing services for kiddos but we wanted to make room for a special guest we both have “met” recently through Instagram!!

❤️Abby Zachritz has been sharing
DAILY about scholarships, grants and funding for all sorts of services for parents with kids with disabilities and special needs! She also is providing information on up-and-up coming treatments and technologies available for your kids.
She does ALL of this while raising her 5 kids that includes a son who acquired a disability at 18 months old and she admits it has been a crazy journey and a hard one. Follow her on .abby!

We provide individualized services benefiting babies, children, and teens with challenges in the following areas:

We also help in the promotion of healthy, active lifestyles, the prevention of musculoskeletal injuries, and independence within the child’s communities.

OUR SERVICES COME TO YOU

Our therapist, with over 20 years experience, will develop personalized plans for your child’s specific needs, utilizing many options to resolve issues. With each session, we incorporate fun and successful therapy techniques children look forward to each week. We have treated a wide variety of patients, including those with general incoordination, developmental delay, premature birth, torticollis, stroke, cerebral palsy, down syndrome, spina bifida, cancer, sensory integration dysfunction, hypotonia, hypertonia and traumatic brain injury. We provide services in the child’s home, private school, daycare setting, or other natural environment.

“The International Intervention Guidelines for Cerebral Palsy say improvements in children with cerebral palsy are even better when intervention occurs at home because children learn best in supported natural settings where training is personalized to their enjoyment.”

After an initial evaluation, we will design an individualized comprehensive treatment plan. Treatments and evaluations will be done in your home or the child’s daycare or private school.
