Here’s to Friday’s and finish lines of all kinds! 🤩

I’m at airport to return home - but glad to have run the BMW Berlin Marathon, and traveled through Germany!

I may need some time off for a cranky hip situation, we shall see.

Next up is the Atlanta Track Club 10 miler, Wine and Dine Weekend and Thanksgiving HM. Of course, if my body allows me. 🤞🏼🤞🏼

𝐁𝐀𝐃 news: missed Boston by 38”. 𝐆𝐎𝐎𝐃 news: beat a bottle of laundry 🧺 soap at Berlin Marathon. 😆

You can’t win them all I guess. 🙃

I saw the Magic Wash before the start, during the race, and after! 🤣 Note in second picture you can see his face peaking through. 👀

Super long run done with 55K of my closest friends. 🇩🇪 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Phew! The Berlin Marathon had some beastly weather with temps in the 80’s for at least a couple hours.

But I started at an easier pace and managed to run second half 13 minutes faster.

And I met someone who recognized me from Rundisney! Like in the first half mile! He recognized me from the Disney+ segment I was in a few years ago — and HE was in it too because he was right behind me when they filmed. It’s a SMALL world!

Anyhoo, I’m glad and thankful it’s done. I’m grateful my body held up (except my ankle - note that shot…).

Marathon no. 23 at PARTY pace on tap! 🥳

Berlin Marathon tomorrow! With temps in the 70’s at the START, it’s going to be a warm one. So I’m planning on running easy and sight seeing 🙃

Expo was quite organized! Bummer though that you have to BUY a finisher shirt. 🙄

Berlin is a beautiful city! Look forward to seeing more of it. Yesterday was minimal given the 18+ hours of travel to get here. 😬

Waiter last night made fun of me though because I ordered a .3L beer - he said it was kid’s size.

Last longest run before Berlin 🇩🇪…

17 solo miles done and dusted. A decent negative split and felt surprisingly good for most of the run. 🙌🏼

I’ve cut back my miles and expectations for Berlin as there’s much happening personally here lately, and something has to give. And I’m OK with that.

Check out my cute Garmin watch face. It makes me smile. 😃 In the evening, the cat sleeps. 💕

Sultry, sweaty miles - ✅😑

Started at 6:30 this morning to beat the sun rise and to attempt to get some cooler miles.

9ish miles done, and glad for that. Also ready for fall! 🍂 🍁 😂

64 days until Berlin - World Major no. 4! ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

PS also included are the baby deer I saw this morning!

COOLING TOWELS - on the RUNway this HOT season 😆🥵

Cooling towels are all the rage this HOT summer running season. 🙃 Thankful that they were provided during the AJC Peachtree Road Race!

Personally, I doused myself with water at EVERY water stop - as much as I drank, and that made a noticeable difference. (While it may not drastically lower core body temperature, the feeling of coolness and the prevention of overheating can contribute to improved comfort, focus, and potentially endurance during runs…)

On the arms, wrists, neck, and even over the head helps to cool yourself down! (Applying the towel or water to strategic points on the body where veins are close to the skin’s surface, can help cool the blood circulating through these vessels and provide a cooling effect for the entire body…)

So, do you do the same?? Whether a towel or cold water? 🤔

Three easy miles after 12 swampy miles yesterday.

Quick trip up to Chattanooga. Some pix of what we’ve seen so far. Farmers market, car museum, great restaurants, and some art!

Yes, I know hate is a strong word. 🙃

Hard workout with buckets 🪣 of humidity and warm 🥵 temps.

7 miles in total with intervals to distract me from the miserable conditions. 😆

How are you handling humidity this summer??

𝐌𝐞𝐝𝐚𝐥🏅𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐏𝐌 𝐄𝐝𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧! 🍑🌳

From working the medal table at the expo to earning it at The AJC Peachtree Road Race, it was a great experience!

I loved handing out the medals during the expo, falling in “love” with the medals myself, and purchasing one before my shift was over. 🤣

I carried it with me through the race in order to have it at the finish, of course. 🙃

Did you know the medal is also a magnet, and a bottle opener?!

Anyhow, Happy Medal Monday!

Included in this series is how my day ended on July 4th (where I learned how to change a flat tire…).
