Atlanta Play Therapy

Atlanta Play Therapy is the counseling and therapy practice of Lauren Holland, LPC. Starting in 2014, APTC has been providing therapy services to clients ages 3 and up who live both inside and outside the city of Atlanta.

Atlanta Play Therapy’s name may be misleading in the fact that it contains play. People often ask “does that mean you are going to make me play?” Play is in important and under valued skill in our society. It is through play children learn about connection, relationships, boundaries, social norms, language, and their inner and outer worlds. For adults, Play is a concept of being creative, free, imaginative and connect to their selves and the world.

Every person interacts, learns, and grows differently. Therapy and counseling is a process that allows an individual to connect with another person and explore what the world would be like if they dared to try something new and different. Engaging different age demographics, backgrounds and personalities takes a special set of skills. Lauren has worked with different treatment focuses, however, she is best known for working with children, teenagers, and relationships, whether that be romantic, parent-child, or peer-peer on an individual basis. Lauren has been a practicing therapist since 2011 and has obtained her Masters in Science and her Education Specialist Degrees both in Professional Counseling from Georgia State University. She has been trained in play therapy, individual with an emphasis on relationships, and family dynamic therapy approaches and understands that each client comes into therapy with different goals and a different frame of reference. Her style is not a “one-size-fits all” but offers custom treatment for each client concern.
