After a copperhead snakebite led to a rare, life-threatening allergic reaction to antivenom, Jason Bryant, NP-C, and Tim Platts-Mills, MD quickly recognized the emergency and led a rapid, coordinated response to stabilize the patient.

He was later transferred for specialized care, safely received an alternative antivenom, and was discharged with preserved limb function.

This case highlights the clinical expertise, teamwork, and calm under pressure our emergency medicine teams bring every day. We’re proud to partner with Maria Parham Health to deliver exceptional care when it matters most.
