🎉 Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University through generous support from the Arthur M. Blank Family Foundation and in collaboration with The Mount Sinai Hospital, celebrated the launch of the new Winship Mobile Prostate Cancer Screening Program yesterday at a community event inside Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

The initiative aims to bring accessible initial screenings to men across Georgia at no cost to them, with a focus on addressing disparities in prostate cancer among those at highest risk, including Black men. 💙

Emory Ortho Now Clinic at the Emory Orthopaedics & Spine Center at Brookhaven is now open on weeknights and Saturdays to treat sudden injuries like sprains, strains, fractures, and sports-related pain right when they happen. Walk-ins are welcome and no appointment is needed.

🕒 Hours
Saturdays: 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Weeknights: Monday through Friday, 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. (starting October 2025)

The final chemo treatment, ringing the bell in the hospital, going home after your doctors declare you cancer-free—all seem like triumphant moments. But Wade, survivor of stage 3 colorectal cancer, describes the period after cancer as being some of his darkest days. Fortunately, his care team at Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University connected him with our psychiatric oncology team to support his mental health as he navigated the after-effects of cancer treatment. He says, “I’m blessed to have become cancer-free, with Winship’s help. I want to be able to live my life to the fullest moving forward.”

Howard faced pancreatic cancer the same way he’s faced life — on offense. A lifelong athlete, he leaned on his fitness, determination and the care of his Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University team to endure a Whipple procedure, chemotherapy and setbacks.

His goal? Climb Mount Kilimanjaro with his daughter — a promise kept in 2025. His message: A cancer diagnosis isn’t the end. Keep moving, work hard and don’t give up hope.

In 2016, Tom was diagnosed with kidney cancer and had one kidney removed. The following year, after the cancer spread, Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University doctors suggested he join a clinical trial.

Tom was eager to participate in the trial testing an immunotherapy, inspired by the fact that former President Jimmy Carter had received the same treatment.
