GAAA's 6th CAA Day at the Capitol was a tremendous success! Fellows and students met with their legislators this morning at the State Capitol Building to discuss the important work done in ORs every day through the physician-led Anesthesia Care Team.

Reminder: early bird registration for Winter Forum ends February 2. Can't attend the Forum but interested in advocacy?

Anesthesia providers who embrace the physician-led Anesthesia Care Team model should also embrace the concept of public policy and political advocacy. To help fulfill this objective, the February 15-17 GSA Winter Forum in Atlanta will include an unprecedented two-hour training workshop to help GSA and GAAA members hone skills and better understand the productive relationship between ASA's Office of Advocacy and GSA's grassroots government affairs activities - both supporting and lifting the other. The workshop is free to any GSA/GAAA member. Registration in the February 16 CME portion of the Winter Forum is not required for attendance at the advocacy workshop, but you must register to let us know you're coming.

GAAA Members: Join the academy and Georgia Society of Anesthesiologists for a very informative advocacy workshop on Sunday, February 17 in Atlanta. Have you been wondering how to better advocate for our profession with state legislators and other stakeholders? Join us for this fantastic session at the Westin Perimeter Atlanta. The event is held in conjunction with the Winter Forum meeting but attendance is complimentary for GAAA members.

The 2019 GSA Winter Forum is jointly provided by the American Society of Anesthesiologists and the Georgia Society of Anesthesiologists. GSA events for Governor and Lt. Governor candidates provide an opportunity to impact health care next 4 years

Join the GSA in supporting GOP candidates in July's runoff election. The candidates elected to serve as Governor and Lt. Governor the next four years will largely determine health policy throughout the state. GSA and GAAA are actively supporting candidates.

June 19 -- Senator David Shafer (GOP candidate for Lieutenant Governor)

June 25 -- Lt. Governor Casey Cagle (GOP candidate for Governor)

Both events will be held at Maggiano's at Perimeter Mall Atlanta from 4:00 - 6:00 pm.
