Who let me bring home a baby?
No, really.
Who let a 24-year-old only child who’d never so much as changed a diaper bring home a whole baby?
The question rattled in my head over and over as Luvirt I brought our oldest daughter home from the hospital years ago almost 13 years ago.
Who’s responsible for this? I thought.
Was the healthcare system to blame? Out of the 500 doctor appointments I had during my pregnancy, how come no one asked me if I had any idea what I was doing?
None of that mattered now. The only thing that mattered was the bone-chilling reality that I was solely responsible for this little one’s well-being for the rest of her natural life.
It was up to me to know if she was too hot.
Too cold.
Too hungry.
Too tired.
It was all too much!
All these years later and to be honest with you, I still feel like I don’t know what I’m doing most of the time. But I’ve come to realize that even when I don’t know what to do, God with me is enough.
God uses my feelings of inadequacy to show me that He can accomplish much more through me than I could ever achieve on my own.
So if you feel overworked and overwhelmed from the demands of managing a home, maintaining a marriage and raising kids, I get it!
But I also know that God has uniquely called, gifted and prepared you with everything you need to flourish in this season.
