This Sunday we are hosting our first mother/daughter "book club." We added "Quotes" because calling it therapy scares everyone. We know this will be emotionally therapeutic but the heart of this group will be to help you connect with your teen daughter and have a fun afternoon together. Did you know that you can pay substantially different amounts for the same counseling service with the same insurance? Example; If you have BCBS and have not met your deductible, you might pay $100 more for a counseling service based on the contact a company has with BCBS. Smaller companies, like Above and Beyond, do not have the quantity of clients to ask BCBS for higher rates. Companies that you see marketed on TV do.

If you come to this practice, you pay significantly less (50% less) for the same service.

And just to keep the public in the dark about this -insurance will not allow us to advertise or publicly share the rates they’ve agreed to pay us for the service. The only way you’ll know is to call a counseling company and ask.

Shop around- find a good therapist that you can afford with your insurance. OR ask about the private pay rates.

I say all of this to remind you that once you’ve met your deductible- get the services you need. And if you’ve not met your deductible, call us and we can let you know the rate you’ll pay until you meet your deductible.
