💫 Reimagining Therapy for Neurodivergent Clients 💫

The mental health field has too often tried to “fix” neurodivergence. It’s time to change that.
Join us for Part 3 of Nyck Walsh’s Neurodivergent Somatics series — a powerful workshop on building anti-ableist, somatic, collaborative, and trauma-informed practices that celebrate ND clients rather than pathologizing them.
We’ll explore how dismantling harmful norms, creating supportive rituals, and leaning into joy as resistance can transform the therapy room — for clients and clinicians.

This workshop is an extension and update of "Competent Care for Transgender & Gender Nonconforming Adult Clients," Dr. Ren Massey’s first program for the Knowledge Tree. In this program, attendees will learn essential information from the latest Standards of Care Version 8 (SOC 8) published by the World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH). The WPATH SOC 8 are the guidelines used by insurance companies and many experts in the field of TGD care, so anyone working with transgender and gender diverse (TGD) clients should be familiar with the SOC. Dr. Massey will review the recommendations in half of the chapters, relevant for adults, of the SOC 8. Additionally, some of the latest research relevant to TGD people will be covered. Experiencing and coping with Minority Stress related to being TGD and intersecting identities and social realities will be addressed. Dr. Massey will provide specific clinical approaches to supporting TGD people, including information to gather from clients and interventions to benefit them. Attendees are encouraged to interact with Dr. Massey and other attendees, with 20-30 minutes dedicated to case discussion and Q&A. Early price ends THIS FRIDAY, October 24th at 5:00pm Eastern Time!

Have you ever struggled to make sense of clients whose reactions to rejection seem ‘disproportionate’ or confusing?” Rejection Sensitive Dysphoria (RSD) is an emerging construct in clinical practice, often seen in clients with ADHD and autism, yet frequently misdiagnosed as borderline personality disorder, depression, or trauma responses. This 6-hour workshop provides a comprehensive framework for understanding, assessing, and treating RSD. Participants will explore its foundations, ADHD and autism-specific presentations, theoretical models, differential diagnosis, assessment strategies, and evidence-informed interventions. Grounded in current research, the training emphasizes diagnostic clarity, therapeutic alliance, and reducing the stigma that often surrounds clients living with RSD.

This introductory workshop will review the scholarly research on the use of Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT) with individuals who experience chronic illness. Emphasis will be placed on learning how to apply the ACT model of emotional pain and suffering to the unique experience of living with physical symptoms of a chronic illness, in addition to emotional distress. Specifically, participants will learn how to conceptualize avoidance of physical symptoms, attempts to control symptoms, and emotional experiences (i.e., depression, anxiety, and fear) from an ACT perspective. Special attention will be paid to the ways in which ACT approaches may need to be modified to accommodate physical symptoms and/or limitations within the chronic illness population.
