HIP IMPINGEMENT ISSUES?
This is super common in active people.
It happens when the ball-and-socket rub in a way theyโ€™re not supposed to.
Pinch shows up when: flexing + externally rotating (like a figure-4 position or knee-to-chest). Try doing 10 of each of these mobility exercises - minus the upper body work shown at the end ๐Ÿ˜›

There ARE some pros and cons ๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿ‘‡

Pros of Ankle Weights๐Ÿ‘‡

๐Ÿ”ฅ Build extra strength: Adds resistance to lower-body moves like leg lifts, marches, glute work, and walking.
๐Ÿ”ฅ Increases intensity fastโ€ผ๏ธ Even 1โ€“2 lbs can make simple movements WAY more effective.
๐Ÿ”ฅ Great for sculpting: Targets hips, thighs, and glutes with higher muscle engagement.
๐Ÿ”ฅ Boost calorie burn: Extra resistance = slightly higher energy output.
๐Ÿ”ฅ Versatile: You can strap them on for Pilates, barre, yoga sculpt, or home workouts.

Cons of Ankle Weights

โš ๏ธ Can stress joints: Too heavy (or used too long) can pull on knees, hips, and lower back.
โš ๏ธ Not ideal for fast movement:Wearing them for running or quick cardio can throw off your gait.
โš ๏ธ Can cause muscle imbalances: If you use them unevenly or overdo them, one side may compensate.
โš ๏ธ Not for all exercises: Some moves become risky if the weight shifts or tugs (like high kicks or dynamic jumps).
โš ๏ธ Easy to overtrain: Because they โ€œfeel light,โ€ people tend to use them too much

ONCE UPON A TIME....

Hey yaโ€™ll. This page is about Health, Fitness and Nutrition.

I became super motivated to workout in 1981 when my Uncle Eric told me I was going downhill at 26 years old because I became winded running around the yard with the kids. So, I set out to do something about it. I was a stay at home mom of 3 small kids and started working out the very next day in my living room to an exercise show on TV. It became a 5:30am morning ritual and the more I stuck with it the better I felt. I needed an outlet besides watching soap operas, Drinking Dr Peppers and smoking 2 packs of ci******es a day. It didnโ€™t take long to ditch all that! I started incorporating my kids for my weight training. Hopped into bodybuilding competitions in 1986 and hung up my posing suit in 1993 with 17 bodybuilding titles. What a trip!

After 35 plus years in fitness, a Certified Personal Trainer through National Academy of Sports Medicine, a 7 year veteran of competitive bodybuilding and a fitness model I came to the conclusion that I have a lot to share with those interested in fitness and those wanting to embark on a fitness journey. So, I wrote a book โ€œGO ASK DEBBIE, HEALTH AND FITNESS TIPS FROM A SEASONED EXPERT. You can grab a copy on Amazon and hereโ€™s the link: https://www.amazon.com/Go-Ask-Debbie-Fitness-Seasoned/dp/1532037929/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1541190235&sr=8-1&keywords=Go+Ask+Debbie

I am teaching this content to hopefully make it an easier path for those wanting to start a fitness journey and learn how to eat clean through my nutrition guidelines. I learned everything the hard way and all I really had was motivation and a deep desire to change my health and stay on track. And I did. And I am.
