UPDATE ON MICHAEL OLMSTED.
Michael is the son of our brother Mike Olmsted. He has been battling aggressive Large B Cell Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma for 3 years. After many rounds of chemo, his oncologist at Moffitt put him into the CAR T cancer program. (Google it if interested) What an amazing medical advancement in the battle with cancer.
I wanted to let everyone know of the outcome of Michael's PET Scan. We visited with his oncologist on Monday, and he said there is no evidence of any hot spots in Mike's lungs or liver. So, it seems the CAR T transplant did its job. YEAH!!! He has to go back on Dec 16th for another PET Scan to monitor any possible new activity. He will then have another 6 months later to check status. Doctor feels if he reaches that milestone, he will be in full remission. Yearly checkups after that to be sure all is good. Mike is feeling better and will be home for 30 days more as he isn't allowed to drive. Moffitt Cancer Center was an amazing partner in his wellness journey. I can't say enough about the staff and their treatment of Mike.
