Closing

Hello All. It is with sadness and anticipation that I write to you. After nine years serving people around Snellville, Legacy Counseling will be closing its doors. I took a job as a psychotherapist for the Mayo Clinic and will be relocating to Wisconsin. I am offering in person sessions through the last week in May and virtual sessions during the month of June. After that, I may continue to offer virtual sessions on a very limited basis. It has been an honor working with you, or having you work with one of the counselors we have had the pleasure of employing.

Let me know if there is anything I can do.

Sincerely,

Rich

Pastors and church leaders are people, too. They have their personal and relational issues and need help at times. However, they are in a different position than the rest of us. Being in the limelight in a church puts performance pressure on a person.
So where does a pastor or church leader go for confidential help. Well, we are hear for them.

Please repost this so pastors can contact us with no pressure and get the help they need.

Encouragement and letting people know good things are not shared often enough. I am very thankful for receiving some positive and affirming emails recently!!! Here are a couple quotes.

"I just wanted to share the good news and say thanks for all you have done. Just know you are making a difference."

"Thanks for always having such wise counsel!"

I have a mental illness, I experienced abuse and have been addicted. I take medication, I am married for over 2 decades, I'm a dad, I've had sexual challenges, I've done stupid things, I use the tools I teach, I'm still figuring things out and growing up. I've had very low self esteem, and have been very depressed and extremely anxious. I probably have some dyslexia and definitely ADD. I've changed careers, relocated, been hurt by church and wonder where God is at times. I've asked forgiveness innumerable times and am sure will have to again (probably have since writing this and you reading this). I've worked blue and white collar jobs. Been in corporate America, small companies and self employed. My dad was narcissistic and my mom neurotic. I've had financial stress, sent kids to college and changed diapers. My dad was probably an alcoholic at some point and my mom was a child of an alcoholic. I've had distorted views of my body. I've been abusive and on the edge of divorce. I can be incredibly not self aware. I have a quick wit and enjoy making people feel comfortable and laugh. I'm also quite serious, intense and passionate. I see the big picture and the details, I'm right and left brained.

It is a fallacy that counselors/therapists are impartial and don't share their beliefs. The mere fact that counselors have theories they utilize forms biases. Additionally, their spiritual perspective and beliefs further inform their therapy/counseling.

Our Logo

Our logo was developed over several months. It came from the vision of Legacy’s cofounder, Christine Oswald. She wanted to have multiple meanings contained in one picture. How many do you see?
