I created this dreadlock lace frontal hairpiece completely from scratch, starting with a bare lace foundation and a clear vision. Every step was done by hand, with intention and patience. I first customized the lace frontal to fit naturally and comfortably, making sure the hairline would melt seamlessly when worn. From there, each dreadlock was individually created and attached, allowing me to control the size, density, and placement for a realistic, balanced look.

Nothing about this process is rushed. Hand-placing each loc allows the hairpiece to move naturally and mimic how dreadlocks grow from the scalp. The goal is not just beauty, but believability; so the piece looks like an extension of the wearer, not something sitting on top of them.

This kind of work is especially meaningful for clients experiencing hair loss, because it offers both coverage and confidence without sacrificing personal style. Every custom piece tells a story, and this one began with lace, loose hair, and a lot of careful craftsmanship.

Finished 🔐ing the hairpiece. Time to create some loc extensions to add length. I’ll also be incorporating some of my clients bio locs.

Many people don’t realize that their own locs can be transformed into a custom hairpiece. When someone chooses to cut or retire their locs, those strands can be preserved and repurposed into a piece that still feels deeply personal.

Hand-knotting is done, and now the piece steps into a new phase. This is where structure turns into expression. I’m refining the hairline, shaping the flow, and preparing the base so it feels as natural as it looks. From here, the transformation deepens as I start creating dreadlock extensions and integrating them into the piece. Each lock is formed with care, then attached strand-by-strand so the style feels intentional, balanced, and true to the client’s vision. The foundation is finished, but the artistry is still unfolding.

Ventilating is the process of tying individual strands of hair into a lace base to create a natural-looking hairpiece. Each knot controls density, flow, and realism. This slow, detailed work is what gives the final piece its seamless blend and natural movement.

Every knot has a purpose. Ventilating is the quiet part of the process where confidence begins to grow again. I’m building this piece strand by strand for someone who deserves to feel like themselves without compromise.

When a client has unique coverage needs, a custom head mold allows me to create a perfectly fitted hairpiece. During your consultation, I take precise measurements and create a mold that captures the exact shape and contour of your scalp. This ensures the base of your hairpiece fits securely and comfortably, without gaps or shifting.

Once the mold is complete, I use it to design a customized wig, topper, or frontal that aligns with your natural hairline, density, and texture. The result is a seamless, realistic finish that looks and feels like it was made just for you — because it was.

Autumn is a beautiful season, but the shifting weather — cooler air, wind, and layered clothing — can create challenges for wig wearers. Here’s how to keep your wig looking flawless all season long:

1. Guard Against Wind & Tangles
• Fall breezes can cause extra tangling, especially at the nape. Carry a wide-tooth comb or wig brush for quick touch-ups.

2. Watch Out for Friction
• Jackets, scarves, and high collars can rub against your wig. Choose satin- or silk-lined scarves and coats when possible to minimize friction.

3. Stay Hydrated
• Human hair wigs may feel drier as the air cools. Use a light serum or wig-safe leave-in conditioner to keep softness and shine. (Avoid putting in products directly on the lace)

4. Protect from Seasonal Shedding
• If you’re experiencing natural hair shedding this season, a wig cap or liner can protect your scalp and provide comfort under your wig.

5. Store Smart
• On days you’re not wearing your wig, store it on a stand away from direct heat or sunlight. This helps it keep its shape and stay fresh.
