Dennis and Kathy Lang are married co-teachers of Yin, Vinyasa and Kundalini yoga as well as Meditation and Mindfulness practices. They are lifelong students of yoga and meditation, in addition to attending national conferences and taking immersions, each with Yoga Alliance Designations - E-RYT 500 and YACEP. In addition to yoga and meditation, they have integrated sound and vibration, as a healing and meditation modality with crystal bowls, Sitar, Spanish guitar, gong and Native American Flute. Since their meeting in 1982, they have traveled extensively to over 40 countries providing them with much cultural exposure and inspiration. Yoga found them in 2000 which led to the reinvention of them. The Lang’s are not tied to any one tradition and not restricted in their teaching as they love all styles. They believe that you can only teach that which you actually practice and experience. One cannot simply read and theorize; one must practice, be authentic and take that practice inward to experience the multiple layers and terrain of oneself. Although they are contemporary yogis, they integrate their studies of the Yoga Sutras, Bhagavad Gita, The Upanishads, The Tao and the Hatha Yoga Pradipika as well as other sources into their practice and lifestyle. They consider ourselves as guides or facilitators of an experience rather than teachers per se. For the Lang’s, it’s all about sharing the potential of yoga as a healing and transformative modality. Their teaching style is best characterized as Mindful Vinyasa Flow with an emphasis on intelligent movement, sensory awareness, stabilized and aligned postures, balance with a blend of Yin Yoga and meditation. Their practice is guided by knowledge of the yogic model of the body, Chakras, the philosophies of Yin and Yang and the subtle layers. They believe that yoga is about relationships, you with yourself, you with the world and you with the divine… therefore, the practice is not a “work out”, but rather a “work-in”.
