Hi! I’m Melissa, a trauma informed yoga teacher, perinatal mental health therapist, birth doula, mother of an incredible two year old and wife to the best 😉 Basically, I love to hold space for others and have been drawn to this work from a very young age. 🦋
Currently, I am a perinatal mental health therapist by day and prenatal yoga teacher by night. In my therapy work I support fellow birth workers such as doulas, midwives, nurses, lactation consultants, doctors and paramedics to help them reprocess traumatic experiences and provide a grounding space to debrief so they can continue to support us mothers and fathers through such pivotal times in our lives. 💫
I also support people navigating infertility, pregnancy, postpartum, reprocessing birth trauma, sexual trauma, narcissistic abuse, endometriosis, PCOS, miscarriage, stillbirth, abortion, cancer and life transitions. 🌗
I have practiced yoga for 10 years and taught yoga for 8 so far with veterans, incarcerated people, children, teens, people navigating substance use recovery, college students, yoga studio go-ers, mothers in a mental health intensive outpatient program and many people in between. 🌸
Yoga has helped keep me grounded through all the unique phases of motherhood I have experienced so far - from keeping my body and mind well in preconception 🤸🏼♂️ navigating a pregnancy with a subchorionic hematoma and pelvic rest for the first two trimesters, an empowering birth 🤱🏽postpartum anxiety and now staying grounded during toddler tantrums to better help my daughter coregulate. 🌟
Wherever you are in your life experience, I hope yoga can be a supportive part to your story in whatever way feels right for you. Location and start date for prenatal classes in Jax Beach coming soon!! 👀🤩
