The toenail clinic at the Johnson Library will be cancelled this month (February) due to staff illness. We will resume again in March.

GSS Home Care of Southeast Nebraska collected food for our annual food drive as a way to give back to the community for Home Health month in November.

950 lbs of food and $650 were donated. These donations were split between CSS St. Francis and SENCA food pantries.

“This has been the largest year yet in donations! We are in awe of the generosity of our community. Costs have risen, yet people still stepped up and gave boldly. Thank you to everyone who donated and to Family Fare for letting us use their location. We are always excited to stock the food pantries, especially this time of year,” stated Jessica Gerdes, Administrator.

We’ll be hosting our annual food drive at Family Fare the Monday and Tuesday prior to Thanksgiving. Please plan to donate. The local food pantries need the extra food/supplies during the holidays.

Congratulations to Megan Howe, RN, case manager at Good Samaritan Society – Home Care of Southeast Nebraska on your recent Guardian Angel award! 🎉

Megan was nominated for the award by Dennis and Vicki Brolhorst. In their donor statement, Dennis and Vicki noted they were thankful for the care and support Megan provided after Dennis suffered a stroke. They said, "She met with us and was very helpful and was a phone call away if we needed her. She is a true asset to your agency."

Last week we completed our 11th annual Food Drive in honor of National Home Care month. We spent 12 hours over 3 days at both Family Fare and Glenn’s Corner Market collecting both cash and non-perishable donations. We raised $209.51 in cash and the amount of food donated was 921.5 lbs. The donations this year were donated to Catholic Social Services Food Pantry.

We are so grateful to Family Fare and Glenn’s Corner Market for allowing us to do our annual Food Drive at their locations. None of the success we have with this Food Drive would be possible without their assistance,” stated Jessica Gerdes, Administrator-HCBS.
