🔎 Stem Cells & HBOT 🔎

Stem cells have the remarkable potential to develop into numerous different cell types and serve as the body’s primary internal repair system.

Hyperbaric oxygen therapy has been shown to significantly increase the concentration of circulating stem/progenitor cells within the peripheral circulation system.

⭐️ Studies have demonstrated HBOT’s therapeutic influence on stem cells with the following:
• Activates nitric oxide synthase type 3 (NOS-3)
• Proliferates and mobilizes bone marrow derived stem cells
• Increases colony-forming cells
• Accelerates growth & repair of damaged tissue
• Improves tissue regeneration & organ functionality
• Promotes neurogenesis
• Ameliorates diabetic symptoms
• Enhances recovery from heart attack

📍 A 2005 study that involved 26 patients who were at risk for osteoradionecrosis after undergoing radiation therapy for head or neck tumors concluded that HBOT mobilizes bone marrow derived stem/progenitor cells by stimulating nitric oxide synthesis. 🔎 Sports & HBOT 🔎

Injuries caused by sports-related activities remain a substantial concern with players, coaches and parents alike. As inflammation and pain play primary roles with respect to recovery, hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) has been shown to significantly reduce inflammation and ameliorate pain.

⭐️ Studies have demonstrated the benefits of HBOT for sports-related injuries with the following:
- Increases Collagen Production
- Stimulates Angiogenesis
- Enhances Recovery from Medial Collateral Ligament (MCL) & Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) Injuries
- Decreases Susceptibility Towards Reinjuring Target Areas
- Rapid Recovery from Concussions & Head Injuries
- Faster Recovery From Surgeries
- Stimulates Stem Cell Proliferation

📍 A 2011 study found that an NFL Athlete improved cognitive functioning with HBOT after suffering multiple concussions. Read more here: www.ihausa.org/sports

🔎 Neurology & HBOT 🔎

Approximately 1 billion people, of all ages, are currently affected by neurological disorders, with an estimated 6.8 million related deaths that occur every year world-wide. disorders. New evidence has shown how hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) has helped individuals regain neurological activity and functionality.

⭐️ Clinical studies have demonstrated the benefits of HBOT for neurological conditions
with the following:
- Improves Cerebral Oxygenation
- Enhances Memory and Mental Performance
- Decreases Intracranial Pressure
- Reduces Blood-Brain Barrier Breakdown
- Promotes Proliferation and Mobilization of Neural Stem Cells
- Recovers & Repairs Damaged Brain Tissue
- Develops & Regains Cognitive/Motor Functions

📍 In a 2013 study on mild-traumatic brain injured (mTBI) patients suffering chronic neurocognitive impairments, HBOT was shown to induce significant brain function improvements, neuroplasticity
and increased brain activity according to SPECT imaging. Read more here: www.ihausa.org/neurology
