Lead is dangerous and may be hiding within places in your home that you don't suspect.
While dust from lead paint is the most common culprit of lead poisoning, lead may also be found in household items such as toys. This is particularly true for toys that are imported from other countries or are older antique hand-me-downs or thrift finds.
The only way to know how much lead is in a child's body is through a lead test. Children should be tested for lead at ages 1 and 2, and more often if they have other risk factors.
