With Gratitude, and With Hope 💛
Dear friends,
The Art Nook has been one of the greatest joys of my life. Watching children light up as they discovered new ways to create, seeing families gather around art, and building a community where imagination and heart thrived — it has been more than I ever dreamed. I am so grateful for the success we found together and for the love and support you poured into the studio.
This past year brought a heartbreaking shift for our family with the passing of my brother, Kyle. He was a giant presence in our life. He is the kind of brother, uncle, best friend who always shows up and always makes sure you know how much he loves you. We have a big missing piece of our family, and it’s been incredibly hard.
My husband is the godfather to Kyle’s children and we knew that we needed to show up for them. We traveled back up to Oregon a few times, and after many prayers and pieces falling into place, our family relocated back up here to the PNW. That’s what family does: no matter the cost, you suit up, you show up, and you keep your word.
Kyle was so proud of me for opening The Art Nook. He would ask all the time how things were going and celebrated every milestone with me. I know he is proud of the thriving space we built, and also proud that I had the strength to close it — not out of failure, but out of love and the promise I made to him.
So with both gratitude and sadness, I share that our doors in California are now officially closed. But this is not the end of The Art Nook. With hope and optimism, I look forward to re-opening here in Oregon and continuing to grow our mission through Happy H’arts, our outreach program bringing art to underserved communities and children in hospitals.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for being part of The Art Nook’s story. I carry every moment of it with me into this next chapter.
In the next few weeks, I’ll be reaching out to refund gift card balances and credits for any missed classes.
With love and gratitude,
Megan Phillips
