Wrapping it all up after three days, Cayuga County Search and Rescue has truly shown its strength in our membership. We may be small, but we are mighty. With less than 20 members we coordinated the New York State Federation of Search and Rescue Combined Federation training where SAR teams from all over the state came to our new home base at the Union Springs Fire Department aka Union Hose & Engine Company to train water recovery K9s and grid searchers and collaborate to create the best resources for Search and rescue available to our communities. We networked with New York State Fire, NYS Department of Environmental Conservation Forest Rangers, Cayuga County Rehab, Aurora Volunteer Fire Department and the Cayuga Nation. We were sponsored by some fantastic local companies Wegmans Bearded Bear Barbecue, Rowan's Bar and Grill, Camerons Bakery , Dunkin' Texas Roadhouse , cayuga county sheriff's department, Cayuga County Emergency Management Office, and Union Springs Central School District, hopefully I didn't miss any. Please feel free to tag someone if I did, social media is not my strong suite. But I am immensely grateful to all the support we were shown throughout this endeavor. Each and every one of the participants, sponsors, teams, my team members, volunteers, instructors, boat operators are sincerely appreciated. And a special thank you to Union Springs Fire Department for accepting us into your facility. Thank you all.
