Wellstar is proud to offer Bridging the Gap, a five-day medical interpreter training designed to empower bilingual individuals to serve as a vital link between patients and care teams, ensuring every patient feels heard, understood and confident in their care while clinicians have the full picture to provide the best treatment. This comprehensive 40-hour course, aligned with national recommendations, will be held June 8, 10, 17, 19 and 23 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Wellstar MCG Health Medical Center, Terrace Cafe, Magnolia Room. A $1.2 million grant from the U.S. Health Resources and Services Administration is helping Wellstar expand maternal care in rural communities by bringing together healthcare providers, public health partners and community organizations to strengthen support for moms and babies where it's needed most. In many rural areas, families face barriers like transportation, housing and food insecurity that can make it harder to access consistent care, and this Rural Community Consortium is helping close those gaps so more families can get the support they need for a healthier start.
