And advocating for the mistreatment of pregnant migrant women also in our correction centers. The original intent of Mission JADE was to provide a safe haven for individuals who have been abused, abandoned, and neglected by their significant other and/or family members. As this was the case for me; My significant other had abandoned me. For Three DAYS, I was left alone and scared (as I was sent home to deliver and pass my dead baby's body out of me). For three days feeling broken and lost with a tremendous amount of guilt, leading to a massive amount of dark thoughts clouding my judgment and the ability to have a clear yet focused mind. However, the more I researched and gained a better understanding of the subject matter the more I undertook my mission & purpose in life. To start my Advocacy by bringing awareness to this Topic for there's FAR MORE than what most think or believe Pregnancy and Infant Loss is. Who is affected? What those causes are? What we can do to finally put at rest the stigma behind it all. Through Education, Programs, and services aimed at this. While ensuring that you're not alone and that you have the support system that is needed. As I am not the only one and how very common this subject really is. That breaking the Silence once and for all is critical and necessary. Let's finally RISE UP!!! Why is this information important for our audience? Miscarriage (or pregnancy loss), Terminate For Medical Purpose (TFMR), Stillbirths, and Loss of a child; What do these words mean? To the average individual, it indicates a loss of sort however it is far more for the individual(s) and their families who experience these losses it is more than a loss it’s a piece of them that’s missing… a piece that cannot be replaced. ** I know this to be true all too well because I am one of the women or individual(s) who has experienced such loss. These topics of said category are of vital importance when pertaining to the Mental Health aspects, as well as, the real justice by providing the awareness alongside educating one another. The cause of this can happen for a wide way range of reasons, by gathering the statistical data were able to see where the great need for services is needed to deal with traumatic experiences, and where do we go from here. What are the objectives for Mission JADE? What I want people to take from this, as well as, to understand is to have an open mind. That there is more than meets the eye. And that the more we advocate for this very taboo subject, the more we can provide a clearer understanding of what it’s about that applying pressure is what’s going to take to get it done. The are's of interest:
*How it may affect the individual involved.
*The importance of the Mental Heath aspects it causes the individual(s) involved.
*The different causes.
*The Data involved.
*Advocating in Creating Change through Laws and Social Service.
**Did you know? President Ronald Reagan declared October as National Pregnancy, Infant Loss Awareness month; As it is written into office and declared on October 15th, 1988. Declaring October 15th as the official Pregnancy Infant loss awareness day. As he advocated for all governmental agencies to provide resources and services to bring awareness to a sensitive topic. To educate one another to provide a better understanding. President Reagan has even quoted:
“When a child loses his parent, they are called an orphan. When a spouse loses her or his partner, they are called a widow or widower. When parents lose their child, there isn’t a word to describe them. This month recognizes the loss so many parents experience across the United States and around the world. It is also meant to inform and provide resources for parents who have lost children due to miscarriage, ectopic pregnancy, molar pregnancy, stillbirths, birth defects, SIDS, and other causes. Now, Therefore, I, Ronald Reagan, President of the United States of America, do hereby proclaim the month of October as Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month. I call upon the people of the United States to observe this month with appropriate programs, ceremonies, and activities.”

The Data Involved:
According to the Bureau of Justice of Statistics, in 2004 Only 54% of incarcerated pregnant women received Some type of care. Incarcerated women, of whom roughly 10% are pregnant at the time of incarceration often have undiagnosed problems such as; depression, diabetes, hypertension, or asthma. All of which can have a negative impact on both mother and fetus. Medical records obtained from ICE reportedly reveal that from October 2016 through September 2017, 10 women in custody experienced a miscarriage. The following year, records indicate that 18 women experienced a miscarriage while in ICE custody. So in the course of two years, 28 miscarriages happened. As reports of these tragedies come to light the more the numbers increase; Also not every case had been reported properly. Or documents have gone "missing" and/or "destroyed". (For both ICE detainees and Incarcerated inmates).
