The men’s group had a fantastic time at our indoor duck – hunting event, laughing and competing as they aimed Nerf guns at bright, floating targets. The room was full of energy and friendly banter, and everyone enjoyed cooling off with old – fashioned root beer floats. A special highlight was our guest duck hunter, who shared engaging stories and tips that brought the adventure to life. It was a memorable afternoon of fun, connection, and smiles all around.

Memory Care is not an add-on; it's our sole focus. We're incredibly proud that our Farmington location is featured for its purpose-built design created specifically for individuals with Alzheimer’s and related dementias.

From our smaller, less overwhelming "house" layouts to secure, massive courtyards where residents can step outside freely (without waiting), our environment balances safety with dignity and independence.

As Senior Executive Director Kimberly O. says, our design makes "daily life less overwhelming."

This thoughtful approach is why we're redefining memory care.

Seeing the smiles on our residents’ faces as they handed out candy to the little ghosts, goblins, and superheroes truly highlights the importance of involving our memory care residents with the broader community. These moments of connection are precious and provide incredible joy and stimulation. It’s a wonderful reminder that everyone, regardless of cognitive ability, benefits from these meaningful intergenerational interactions!

The Jamaican spirit is often summed up by the Patois saying, “likkle but tallawah” small, yet strong, powerful, and fearless. This profound resilience is exactly what we see in action right now, not only on the island but within the Jamaican community here at home supporting their loved ones.

Take me out to the ball game! 🌭🍿⚾️
This week, we brought the ballpark to one of our wonderful residents-and her family joined in on the fun! While we enjoyed hotdogs, baseball on the screen, and wonderful conversation, she had her nails done with a baseball-themed design right at the event. As the game went on, she began to reminisce about the days she spent at baseball games with her loved ones, filling the room with stories, laughter, and cherished memories.

Arden Courts - ProMedica Memory Care (Austin) welcomes our newest (and furriest) community member - our very own therapy dog!

With a wagging tail and a heart full of love, our therapy dog is here to spread joy, comfort and smiles to everyone. Therapy animals serve an important role in the memory care community as they not only spread joy and excitement, but they can help stimulate cognitive and emotional processes.
