A few words of Spring, amidst this Winter’s chill.

Cut Flowers

Cut flowers on an altar
Brown, decayed, and dry
Sit with them in silence
Watch the petals die
Mourn inside their withering
Feel your lone deep dread
Apart from their beauty
Lifeless, soiled, and dead
Recall though not these cuttings
Severed from the stem
Is such the soul within you
When pruning doth begin
For pressed within bright pages
Once dried those dreadful leaves
Conjure Sweet the memory
Of Spring’s fresh budding trees

Replaced the narrow iron bridge with this reclaimed wooden structure. The entire garden loop is now conducive to a barefoot stroll, much to the delight of the tender feet among us!
