It’s a cultivated skill to align your daily livelihood with your soul’s dharma.
We often think it’s the job, the specific line of work that proves we’re following our dharma.
‘If only I was doing ‘xyz’ I’d be living out my purpose’
‘I’m not doing enough, how will I ever reach my potential’
‘I loved that career, it gave me drive, I’m so lost now’
‘This doesn’t look like what I envisioned my career path to look like, & it feels right’
🪷What the Buddha says we often miss, is that our life is our purpose! and we can live our dharma in any spect of our life.
The Path of Skillful Livelihood is a practice to align your inner spiritual being with the external world.
The values we hold for ourselves and how we live them.
Dharma is our nature, our true, inherent, divine nature. Which I feel is the essence of our soul that is trying to express in this current lived experience.
For me - cultivate safety in learning is my dharma. I can do that in
👉🏽a conversation with a friend
👉🏽teaching a course
👉🏽writing a blog
👉🏽donating to education
👉🏽being a mentor or in a management role
👉🏽as a barista (order coffee is scary yo if you don’t know)
It’s okay to be wrapped up in what ‘it should look like’
AND what if you opened to what it could look like!
Because it’s not the job that expresses who you are, it’s who you are when you show up in the job.
I love meeting other yoga teachers and seeing how they are living there hearts out! I met on set with and she told me about her love of bees 🐝 and how she’s a bee keeper!
The bravery & fearlessness that’s cultivated in this is mind blowing! I felt impacted by her sharing her passion.
simply knowing she’s out there, buzzing her joy with her bees, I feel brighter more connected ✨💕🐝🦋🫶🏽🌱🌷
& that’s what sangha is, community that is living their livelihood, with their heart sharing that you too can do it how you want to.
🪷& that’s how we create more peace & free each other from suffering 🪷
Thank you for being a part of my sangha 🪩🌷
I love you 🤟🏽
