Dear Friends-

Sorry for the short notice but I hope I can enlist your help🙏🏻

Texas midwives need your help! The Texas legislature is set to receive several bills in the next few months that would have huge impacts on midwifery if they pass. We are hosting a day at the Capitol building in Austin for midwifery supporters, clients, and their families and friends to advocate for their rights to birth with midwives out of the hospital.

We invite you to join us (TOMORROW) on February 5, 2025, to chat with legislative staffers about your pregnancy care and your experience with your midwife. We will provide talking points to help you, and we promise it will be easy and fun!

Join other birth centers and home birth families to help protect your right to give birth where you choose!

When: February 5, 2025 Time: 9:30 AM

Where: Sweetwaters Coffee and Tea and the Texas Capitol Building

What: Come spend an hour or two talking to legislative staffers who drop by for coffee and visiting your own representatives. Bring your sweet babies and toddlers!

Birth is an experience of the body, spirit and mind.

The mind is not actually helpful in the birth experience and can make the birth process more difficult. But in order for you to fully relax and allow your body and spirit to take over, your brain has to have enough information ahead of time to understand what's going on. When the brain can thoroughly assess the process and understand what is happening, it is able to let go and relax so that the body and spirit can take over.

If you're a first-time mother-to-be, there will be a lot of new and unfamiliar experiences and questions that might freak you out a little and bring unnecessary stress into the process. When you've got enough information going into the birthing room, your mind will relax, and your body will follow its own mystical lead automatically.

Food, minerals, and vitamins are your first medicine. They are also the first key to a healthy pregnancy, baby, birth, and life.

In a nutshell, we need to eat lots more vegetables, lots more good quality protein, and far less wheat, commercially raised meat, dairy, and sugar.

So much to be thankful for! Thanksgiving always helps me to reflect on all I have that I am grateful for. My children, family, and friends, my work and clients, each and every birth that I am blessed to attend, and the newest adventure of writing and publishing The Book of Birth- Volume I.

There are so many people in the world struggling and too much suffering, and I have always felt called upon to help anyone I can, in any way I can. Sometimes it is a gift of service, sometimes it is monetary, sometimes it is time, and I hope now that this book also has the ability to help women, families, and babies. I’m truly hoping this book will be part of a much needed shift in the way we look at pregnancy and birth, with a huge focus on the empowerment of women.
