Hey y’all! Thought I’d reintroduce myself! I’m Dr Sarah Tseng. I found acupuncture during my own struggle with hormonal issues and it completely changed my life. 🌿 As a second-generation practitioner of Chinese medicine, this medicine runs deep in my roots and my heart.

Now, I get to live my passion every day as an acupuncturist and professor at Texas Health and Science University!

I believe in holistic wellness that nourishes the whole person, body, mind, and spirit. When I’m not in the clinic or classroom, you’ll find me in a pilates class, cuddling my three pups, or at the pool with my family. 🧘‍♀️🐶💕 Hoping to become more active on this page!

Took a break and gave myself a couple of needles at the office! Feeling grounded and balanced thanks to Large Intestine 4 (LI4), known for its ability to relieve headaches, stress, and boost the immune system. It’s amazing how this little point on the hand can make such a big difference in how you feel! ✨

Spring is coming!

In tradition Chinese medicine, spring is associated with the wood element or the liver organ system. So as we transition from winter to spring, here are some tips on how to promote health and wellness during the springtime!

1. Acupuncture helps to reset the nervous system and balance the body

2. Eating seasonal foods like green leafy vegetables help support the body’s natural rhythms

3. Stretching and practicing yoga reduces stress and promotes harmony in the liver meridian

4. Spending time outdoors in nature is beneficial for our physical and mental health! Try walking around barefoot!

5. Springtime is consider the peak season for liver energy so support your liver by limiting alcohol and eating greens foods, pickles, turmeric, garlic, and onions

6. Stay hydrated by drinking room temperature water to support digestion

7. Spring cleaning! Since the liver is associated with cleansing, detoxification and renewal, it’s the perfect time to clean out your house!

8. The change in seasons affect our sleep patterns, so it’s important to be consistent and get enough sleep each night

Happy Lunar New Year!

While western astrology uses a solar based calendar, the Chinese zodiac uses both solar and lunar calendars, which is based on the phases of the moon.

2024 is the year of the wood dragon! Every year, one of the five elements is paired with one of the 12 Chinese zodiac animals.

This year combines yang wood and the dragon! How the elements interact and what they represent may give us predictions on what’s coming in the future. Have you looked in your zodiac predictions?

To celebrate, we wear red, decorate the house with red lanterns, give out hong bao 🧧and eat with family to welcome a harmonious and lucky new year!

I love that post treatment bliss ✨ I’ve been treating myself with acupuncture at least once a week and here’s what I’ve been working on!

😴Sleep/energy: having an 11 month old means there’s some nights I’m getting up 2-3 times, so I use acupuncture to relax and support sleep
🥘Digestion: I use a combination of acupuncture and herbs to help keep my digestive system moving and to help with bloating
🧖‍♀️Anti-aging: every other week I add facial acupuncture points after my skincare routine to increase collagen production

Reach out and let’s see how acupuncture can improve your daily life!
